A stunning and thought provoking movie
There aren’t many films these days that make me feel very emotional but The Father is one of them, Anthony Hopkins Oscar-winning performance is so powerful and well-performed that I started to feel like I knew the character as he changes moods and gets confused with what is happening I found myself welling up on several occasions and there was even a moment when I had tears rolling down my cheeks, thank heavens for face masks in the cinema to mop them up.

A Thriller that gets better (1 more)
Good plot
No dead weight
Thought I'd give this short thriller a go. It seems almost too simple to be that good. Probably best not to read the synopsis first as that is a spoiler.
What starts as a simple revenge plot in a situation similar to @Gerald's Game (2017) a wife is handcuffed to her husband who kills himself in a remote lake house in winter. But there is a lot more to it than that and I found it a very enjoyable Thriller.

Relaxing- like to watch this before going to bed. (0 more)
A little bit niche in that its set during a normal every day kind of plotline- probably not something everyone would enjoy especially if they do prefer action. (0 more)
Reminds me of friends in that its all very chill with a sense of camaraderie only Kim’s convenience is focused on blood relatives. None the less this show is really good to relax to when your fed up of all the action packed dramas. I also found the family dynamic really relatable which was fun.

These days we have got so used to the fast-paced movies with all-out action that a film like 1917 can be a bit of a “Marmite Movie” for lots of people, but putting aside that the film does run in a slower pace than most movies that are currently running in cinemas at the moment, I have to say that I found myself glued to the film right from the start, it’s a powerful and emotional film that brings home the horror of war!
