I find myself at a loss on what to say about this book. At times I was throughly engrossed in the story and fascinated by what made Humbert do the things he did. I often found myself wondering why Lolita didn't seek out an escape much sooner. Then there were points where I was utterly bored, where nothing really happened and the story just seemed to drag on and on with no end in sight.
With all that being said the book was okay. Not one of the best ever writen as many argue though and not one I will likely ever pick up again.

The alien itself
Unoriginal but a decent ending
Let's face It, the premise of this film isn't exactly original. How many times have we seen supposed scientists meddle with alien life forms with horrific results?

The story is completely unoriginal, not very suspenseful and I found the lifeform itself to be very unthreatening not sinister in the slightest. Calling it Calvin didn't help either with the fear factor. The only thing I liked was the ending, as for once I didn't see it coming. Whether this was just due to boredom setting in by then I won't know for certain.

The best Wolverine film by far
This is the Wolverine film we've all been waiting for, and this is the kind of film they should've made to begin with (instead of the Origins etc).

This is a very fitting final outing for Wolverine. I loved the violence, it's refreshing to see a more adult Marvel film for a change - possibly taking it's lead from Deadpool? Some great turns from Hugh Jackman and Patrick Stewart too. My only complaint would be that the film gets a bit repetitive - Wolverine goes somewhere to hide out, gets found, fights, moves on - could've done without this quite so many times.

Another great Discworld book
I wasn't too sure about the Rincewind books when I first started, but he really is growing on me. Like The Light Fantastic before it, Sourcery is completely bonkers and moves on at an incredible pace. As with all Discworld books, it's very funny in parts and I love the fact that yet again I've found myself laughing out loud whilst reading. My only criticism would be that I don't believe some of the supporting characters have been quite as good as those from other books like Twoflower, the Luggage didn't seem as prevalent as it did in the past. Still a great entertaining read though.

Surprisingly good
I wasn't expecting much from this seen as it had a new director in Justin Lin,but it's actually very good - surprisingly so for a third film. The effects are great, the story is interesting and it's nice to see some of the supporting characters get a bigger part after Into Darkness (Bones, Scotty). My main issue is with Krall. Despite the films best efforts to make him a terrifying enemy, i just found him a little weak and the cg face was reslly offputting. Shame as Idris Elba is a fantastic actor and he could've been given more to work with.

What does happen is anything but scary
Terrible
It's not very often that I consider walking out of a movie. It's only happened on a handful of occasions and I usually try and stick it out, just in case I miss some huge U-turn which turns the movie from a 2 out of 10 to an 8 or a 9. The Witch was a movie I found myself hating early on. I stuck with it, hoping for that U-turn, but it never came. What people saw in this I'll never understand. But then I liked 'Blair Witch', so maybe it's me!

Great take on mythology
I'd heard great things about this book, and I'm pleased to say it pretty much lived up to expectations. This is a fantastic idea for a story and I absolutely love the use of mythology. Shadow is a great protagonist (if a little too quiet at times) and Wednesday too is a good character. There's a great twist and the plot comes together very well. My only criticisms are that I found some parts of the story drawn out and potentially unnecessary, and the main ending seemed to be over very quickly in comparison with how long it took to get there.

Comes with its own (real) soundtrack!
A book with a REAL Greatest Hits!
I thoroughly enjoyed this - I'm a big music fan, and to find out that this came with a real album was quite exciting (I found the album on Spotify - it's by Kathryn Williams and is called, unsurprisingly, Greatest Hits!). Each chapter begins with a song - which I listened to as well as read. It made it seem more 'real', and gave the main character a real voice. It follows Cass from childhood through to the present day, with all the upheavals and happiness that life brings.
Well worth a read!!

The premise of this novel was so good, who wouldn't want to jump into a book? Though, it did give me 'Inkheart' vibes from the very beginning.
I think that's why I found this book to be just ok. Basically, the opposite of Inkheart occurs, but I think Inkheart was better written. The problem with this book might have also been the translation from German.
Book Jumpers, in this novel, protect literature, but for some reason, someone's stealing ideas. Of course, you don't really know why until the very end. It was completely predictable and I came up with a better ending in my head.

When I heard that the same guy that directed Wanted was going to direct the movie version of Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, I was game. I was looking so forward to this film.
The first thing I found kind of off about the film was the casting of Abraham Lincoln, Benjamin Walker. He was just a little wooden, and it didn't work for me.
Now, Dominic Cooper as Henry Sturges was a great casting. Yes, I read the book, so I knew what Sturges was. The scene with Cooper wearing the pair of sunglasses? Amazing.
Overall, this alternative history was good, but not as well executed as the book.
