This was a found read. It also got my emotions for what a surprising ending as well. Dylan and Annie have to struggle with their past to get though. Though Annie is more worried about her sister and nephew more so then what really is bothering her.
Though it all though they do find somethings. I suggest if you pick this one up you get some tissues. It reach the value of true love and having faith and letting go. Annie as though things needing to learn though out the book. Dylan need to learn somethings though most of it is Annie needing to learn to trust as well.

A very good bleak look at the future. A well made film, with a good cast. I found it a little slow to get going, but the modern look of London was interesting and technology. The best scene was a battle scene in a run down part of town as the activists clashed with the military. All the while Clive Owen is dodging bullets and trying to protect the only child on earth. It really draws you into the thick of a battle, caught in the middle trying to stay alive. After all the build up I felt the film finished a bit short, not the conclusion I was hoping for.

I remember reading this book when I was a kid in elementary school, found it in my local used book shop, and had to pick it up. Not going to lie, I used to be terrified of these books, but I still read them because I secretly loved being scared. Rereading it, it was a fun book with so many Poe allusions (which were amazing since he is my favorite Poe-t, lol). I can say for a fact I liked these books much more when I was a child, but it was still fun to revisit my childhood books. So, yeah, nostalgic read number three of the year.

For second book in the series this one was pretty darn good. I really like the evolution of the characters and the situations that they were put through. The darkness of the story completely surpassed that of the first. I like all the literary illusions that are found throughout the novel in series. Megan Shepherd did a great job crafting the story in a way that made it believable on the page. I like the little details that she has throughout the story that make it so much more realistic in the world it is setting. If you like horror novels you should definitely start reading this series

Easily the most fun read I've had yet this year. The characters are all engaging, well fleshed-out, and very memorable. The numerous conversations held throughout the course of the investigation are all a treat to read. I often found myself grinning ear to ear with pleasure at the characters actions, in particular those of the 'temporary' secretary. I did kind of guess at the ending, but I think that had more to do with there being a lot of well-placed clues throughout the book than it did with it being overly obvious. Overall, an immensely entertaining book and easily one of my favorites this year.

Disappointing from this author
I love Butcher, and this had all the marks of one of his series. But I found the story for the most part to be very dry. I listened to this on audio at 1.5x speed to get through it and still felt that it was sort of flat, I felt the same during the peaks as I did for the rest of the book.
I'm sure it will get better later in the series, all his first books have been sort of like that, but I am unlikely to continue with the story. The takes on the cats were pretty fun, but overall I'm disappointed.

Sydney returns home to North Carolina to help plan an even intended to keep the animal shelter where her sister Kat works afloat. A local bully threatens to do whatever it takes to stop the event, and Kat yells at him that it will be the last thing he will ever do. Since he is found dead not long after, Kat becomes suspect number one, and Sydney goes to work to prove her sisters innocence. This well-paced mystery kept me in the dark right up to the end. Purr M for MURDER is the first in what looks to be a great new series.

Another of Crais' stand alone novels, I found this one rather disappointing. The plot was a little too obvious. And, as a completely personal issue, the language also bothered me. On the other hand, the characters were great and compelled me further into the story.

Audible makes this a better book!
I found this to be a truly enjoyable experience with Audible on my side. I am an avid reader, but something about Finty's voice and her ability to paint characters with just tonality is mesmerizing.
This is a unique spin on the typical zombie apocalypse story, and I have to say it's done exceedingly well. I loved the idea of Melanie being raised as she was, and even though the end of the book could be predicted, the perspective of the child and the changes that some characters made caused me to be particularly thrilled with this book. Off to find the movie now!!

In full on 1950s fashion but with an end of the world flare this 2007 film will steal your heart. The misogyny portayed is typical of the time period, but i found myself cheering Carrie Ann Moss on as she decided to stand up for herself. And young Timmy when he gets in trouble Fido either saves the day, or when it was too hard for him he runs home to get mom. And just like in Lassie there is the whole "What is it boy? Is Timmy in trouble?" Dialogue throughout contains a treasure trove of quotable lines.
