Well I'm late to the party on this one. Heard great things about this and it's be on my list on Netflix for ages. At 13 episodes and all around an hour long it is quite a big series.
The first half of the series is very funny as a new prisoner tries to adapt to prison life for carrying drugs 10 years previously. There are some great characters and plot lines in this. I found it was running out of momentum a bit towards the end. Still overall it's a very good series if you have missed it so far.

I like some of their music but I’m certainly not the biggest Queen fan even so I still found plenty to enjoy here. It doesn’t do anything particularly new with the music biopic movie formula and it does shy away from some of the darker elements of Freddy Mercury’s personality. Where it succeeds though is in its leading man, Rami Malek is outstanding as Mercury. Charismatic , flamboyant and dominating every scene that Oscar was certainly well deserved. Ending the movie with an exact reproduction of Queen’s iconic Live Aid performance was also a smart move showing the band and Freddy at their best and sending me away to add Radio Gaga to my Spotify playlist.

One of the most hyped books in ages--about a murderous married couple--completely fell flat for me. What a disappointment! I slogged through most of this one waiting for it to get good and see what all the fuss was about. I felt nothing for the characters except irritation. This was the ultimate epitome of a slow start. It picked up a bit, but there was nothing to redeem these hateful characters. The entire book was incredibly anticlimactic until a rushed, uncertain ending. Ugh. Still, I can see bits and pieces of why others found it so interesting, and I'll still be intrigued to read Downing's next book. 2.5 stars, though, for me.

Meh
I was expecting so much from this movie and it didn't pay off. I thought this was going to be about "what if superman was a normal kid who got bullied and so used his new found powers for revenge." Instead we got "strange psycho alien kid who used to be completely normal and now he is insane because reasons." Not gonna lie, the gore was slightly entertaining, but the kid actor was off-putting; and not in a horror movie kind of way.
The concept of the movie had the potential to be something special and give something different to the superhero genre, but instead we got another hash of "The Omen" movies.

David McK (3562 KP) rated Stardust (2007) in Movies

Starring a pre-Daredevil Charlie Cox and based on the book of the same name by Neil Gaiman, this actually sticks pretty close to it's source material for the majority of its runtime: that is, up until about the last 30 minutes or so when it goes off in completely its own tangent.
I also have to say that I found the inclusion of Ricky Gervais to be completely out of place (I find his whole schtick to be incredibly annoying anyway), and Robert De Niro playing against type as Captain Shakespeare also took me quite by surprise the first time I saw it (but good on him for being game enough to do so).
