Deplorable, only a few meager steps above the likes of shit hall-of-famer ๐๐ฆ๐ถ๐ค๐ฆ ๐๐ช๐จ๐ข๐ญ๐ฐ๐ธ: ๐๐ข๐ญ๐ฆ ๐๐ช๐จ๐ฐ๐ญ๐ฐ. Bargain bin ๐๐ฎ๐ฆ๐ณ๐ช๐ค๐ข๐ฏ ๐๐ช๐ฆ meets injudicious ๐๐ฆ๐ณ๐ณ๐ช๐ด ๐๐ถ๐ฆ๐ญ๐ญ๐ฆ๐ณ'๐ด ๐๐ข๐บ ๐๐ง๐ง mixed with elements that we'd later see Phillips use to his benefit in better films like ๐๐ฉ๐ฆ ๐๐ข๐ฏ๐จ๐ฐ๐ท๐ฆ๐ณ and ๐๐ถ๐ฆ ๐๐ข๐ต๐ฆ - but are 0% amusing here. I challenge you to find a more stagnant road trip movie than this, why even cast Tom Green at the peak of his fame (who, along with DJ Qualls, are the only perfect performances) if you're only going to have him do a couple outrageous things? Like yeah don't overdo it but come on you can do better than this. I mean hell even similarly awful 30 ๐๐ช๐ฏ๐ถ๐ต๐ฆ๐ด ๐ฐ๐ณ ๐๐ฆ๐ด๐ด did at least fifty times more with Fred Ward. Also worth noting how much this films hates women. The entire plot of this movie hinges on the Meyer (who is worse than terrible in this) character rightfully being in danger of his girlfriend finding out he undisguisedly cheated on her but we're supposed to not want that to happen because him and his noxious jackass friends are funny... but they aren't? Some of the ugliest aesthetics and soundtrack offerings of the crime of good taste that was the late 90s/early 2000s style. I'm usually a Todd defender but this is just wretched. ๐๐ฐ๐ข๐ฅ ๐๐ณ๐ช๐ฑ๐ฆ.

As far as practical effects driven monster movies go, you can't get much better than Tremors.
It has a wonderful cast for a start - lead by Kevin Bacon and Fred Ward, and featuring the likes of Finn Carter, Michael Gross, and Reba McEntire, every character is likable (apart from that little shit Melvin) and you want them all to survive their ordeal, usually a rarity in this genre!
The chemistry between all of the actors is great, and makes for a frequently funny adventure. It has its fair share of bloodier moments that push into horror territory, and in that regards, the mostly daylit Nevada desert setting is something different to enjoy. The practical effects are extremely B-Movie, but it works so well with the overall tone.
The narrative takes a little while to set everything up, but when things get moving, it doesn't stop, moving from set piece to set piece, that are all memorable as hell, from pole vaulting from boulder to boulder, to fishing with homemade bombs, to a over the top l, laughable amount of guns being fired when a Graboid breaches an underground bunker.
Tremors is fucking great and deserves so much praise for what it is - it's own little pocket of comedy horror, with its own rules. Long live Tremors.

As with all Harry Potter books I love them, because why wouldnโt you? And the one thing I find is that in the movies they tend to miss some of Rowlingโs amazing sarcastic and hilarious scenes and if you are only a lover of the movies you tend to miss so much.
Now I will admit the book and the film absolutely terrified me when I was younger and still gives me a bit of creeps now, even though I do own a snake and love them to bits. Any who โฆ
In this movie we meet new characters, one of which becomes very dear to everyoneโs heart โ aka Dobby! We meet the funny little House Elf who manages to wreck havoc in poor Harryโs life before he even gets to school with the whole dropping a pudding in the middle of the living room and then blocking 9 and 3 quarters to both Harry and Ron. Hence them then breaking the first law, do not expose Magic to Muggles. Then who could forget Gilderoy Lockhart? The incompetent but very good at memory spells Dark-Arts teacher. And then there is Moaning Myrtle, good old Myrtle.
Harry and Ronโs misadventures start right at the beginning of term, causing them to nearly be expelled. Thankfully not, other wise the book series would have been very short. More and more drama ensues to the Trio (Harry, Ron and Hermione) and the rest of the school as the book continues with Harry talking to snakes, Ginny acting strange, and then studentโs being petrified including our brilliant Hermione. Itโs then up to Harry and Ron to try and solve the mystery. You know, because all those suitably qualified teachers canโt do anything but a twelve year old can?
But what started off with causing everyone to avoid Harry within an inch of his life soon became the reason all the muggle-borns and half-bloodโs stayed awake and not petrified. What would they ever do without Harr Potter?
A funny and dramatic second book in this series which grips you straight from the start with Rowlingโs brilliant way to use mischief, sarcasm and wit in her writing.
A Favourite scene of mine that is in the books is:
โFred and George, however, found all this very funny. They went out of
their way to march ahead of Harry down the corridors, shouting, "Make way for
the Heir of Slytherin, seriously evil wizard coming through ......
Percy was deeply disapproving of this behavior.
"It is not a laughing matter," he said coldly.
"Oh, get out of the way, Percy," said Fred. "Harry's in a hurry."
"Yeah, he's off to the Chamber of Secrets for a cup of tea with his fanged
servant," said George, chortling.
Ginny didn't find it amusing either.
"Oh, don't," she wailed every time Fred asked Harry loudly who he was
planning to attack next, or when George pretended to ward Harry off with a large
clove of garlic when they met.โ
