BookInspector (124 KP) rated This is the House in Books

The characters in this book were really interesting and had personalities. All of them were really mysterious, it seemed that every each of them has a secret which they were trying to hide. The main character, Mr. Seal, feels like Sherlock Holmes in French environment to me, which is quite entertaining and amusing. What I really liked about the book was twists and turns. There were things constantly happening and it wasn’t dragged uselessly. It has a good ending which leaves you satisfied with how the story turned out. Even though the beginning of the book wasn’t quite interesting and went slow for me, it is quite good book, which takes you in as you continue reading it. And if you love crime, black magic, and romance in the same place, give it a try and you might be pleasantly surprised.

Chris Hooker (419 KP) rated The Breeders (Breeders, #1) in Books
Jan 12, 2018
[The Breeders] by [Katie French] was a very exciting well written book. The main character of Riley was full of spunk and wasn't going to let anyone get the better of her. Her goal was to protect the ones she loves. As the story progresses she realizes she may need some help with this and must learn to trust other people.
This will be a book I look for in a paper edition to put in my classroom library. I will also be putting the {Believers] on my reading list.
Andrew Kennedy (199 KP) rated Baby Driver (2017) in Movies
Jun 10, 2019
Like the French Connection and Ronin the car chases are amazing.
Also the soundtrack which took director Edgar Wright a year to complete.
Ansel Elgot delivers a superb performance as the titular character Baby. Who is always listening to music and how that music interacts with the action on screen is a credit to Wright.
Kevin Spacey is fine as the criminal mastermind. With some surprising actors turning up as robbers.
The script never takes itself overly serious and has some lovely wit on display. The nephew is my personal favourite.
There is always something happening and it's a high octane ride. This is no Driving Miss Daisy.
