I bought this book last year, and then found out a mini-series version was being made. I watched and enjoyed that, but I gave it a little bit of time so the story wouldn’t be fresh in my mind. While I did still remember many of the plot points, I really enjoyed reading this book. It was delightful seeing how everything was planted remembering how it ended. The characters are also delightful. Becks could be a little annoying at times, but her character growth was great. I loved watching the trio build their friendship. And some of the situations they got into made me laugh. I’m looking forward to spending more time with these ladies, hopefully soon.

We have more characters this time with Tails and knuckles joining in, Carrey is more Robotnik this time round. There are many good ties to the games with the plot, and other little things. It looks great as well especially the big boss battle at the end more like the games.
On the down side Idris Elba doesn't seem to fit the voice for Knuckles. There is less human screen time especially for James Marsden. His friendship with Sonic in the first was a great part of the film. Here it feels marginalised as Tails is the new buddy. Just not as funny as the first for older viewers. Still quite similar so if you liked the original you should get a blast from this.

It was good a quick uncomplicated read. I’m not sure what else to say above it really while it was good nothing really stood out to take it higher than 3 stars.

As you can imagine, this is a hard book to read; it's a story filled with despair, death and unimaginable suffering but it's also a story filled with hope, the power of friendship and love.
Ana and Ester are the two main characters and oh what characters they are; strong and with a will to continue to do good whilst all around them descends into chaos and madness.
This book had my emotions in a constant state of flux; angry, sad, tearful, horrified but also hopeful and in awe and wonder of the people who went through such despicable crimes but continued to keep their humanity unlike the Nazis!
Like I said, this is a difficult read but, I think, an essential one and I must thank Bookouture and NetGalley for enabling me to read it and share my thoughts.
