I have previously read one of Christobel’s novels - The Crooked House - which although I enjoyed I found it a confusing read and I felt the same way about The Loving Husband although there was less enjoyment with this one.

When adoption guru Sam Brennan is found bludgeoned to death in his house, it starts San Diego Sheriff Department detective Roxanne Prescott on a trail of long hidden secrets. The plot was uneven and really seemed to slow down in second half.

The early naughties destructive Japan
There was a slew of angry rebellious nihilistic cinema in this period and Blue Spring may just be the most punk rock of them all. Its an artistic nasty little film full of violence and tension, as if art House got really pissed off and decided to say eff you. A seminal piece of cinema

This is the third book in a series but the first I have read. I think I was at a slight disadvantage not having read the first two but not so much as it spoiled things for me because I was highly entertained by this book.
