This was quite a light, fluffy read, but it did have it's problems - not just the occasionally Typos! For a 29 year old New Yorker, Emily could be really naive - I could understand she might not know what Black pudding was made from, but not knowing what a full English Breakfast was or the words 'snogging' and 'bloke'? Now really!

There also seemed to be some confussion over the places the tour was visiting - it sounded like Jane Austen's House in Chawton, but then there were other references to Chawton Manor house - which is something different.

Also not sure about driving from Bath to Chesshire for a day visit in the depths of Winter.

OK, but nothing much to write home about overall.

House of Wax (2005)
House of Wax (2005)
2005 | Horror, Mystery
Sure, House of Wax is uninhibited silliness, trashy, and so painfully mid 00s, but I think it's a fair comment to say it's an underrated movie, from an era of horror that I'm not personally too fond of.
It's full of constant nu-metal needle drops, awful dialogue, and very on-the-nose visual moments (looking at you, villain slicing through a conjoined-twin wax sculpture) but to its credit, it has an ambitious premise that's pulled off well, some solid and imaginative gory moments, and a pretty creepy boogeyman, and all this combined makes for a film that deserves more than just "is that the one with Paris Hilton in it?"

Give House of Wax another chance. It's dumb, but fun.

Olive Dunwoody and her parents have moved into a new house, but soon Olive begins to suspect that something out of the ordinary is happening. In fact, she's pretty sure the pictures are moving. What's going on? I wasn't prepared for a supernatural book when I picked it up, but I still enjoyed this story aimed at tweens.

Jacobia "Jake" Tiptree has moved to Maine and bought a fixer upper in an attempt to get away from the rat race. But it doesn't quite work out when she finds a dead man in her house and her best friend confesses to the murder. The book starts out very slowly, but as I went along, it did begin to get better.

Slaughterhouse Rulez (2018)
Slaughterhouse Rulez (2018)
2018 | Comedy, Horror
Welcome to the hellmouth, we've got double games. Slaughterhouse Rulez (2018) Review
If Hammer House Of Horror had produced “Spaced”, the result could have been a lot like “Slaughterhouse Rulez”. A common room home brew of British Boarding School classics like “If….”, “Goodbye, Mr. Chips” (the 1969 musical version specifically) mixed with “Ghostbusters” and dash of “Harry Potter”, this intoxicatingly lowbrow comedy horror offers a novel spin on the idea that British education has gone to the dogs....
