Old proverb states: can a movie *truly* be bad with a Colin Farrell performance this fuckin' gonzo? Just as hokey as you remember, that playground fight is one of the worst things to make it through to pass in any superhero movie - and it's hilarious. Really funny when it tries to be, too though - for that matter. Overstuffed and contrived for sure but not too much more or less cartoonish than most of the stuff in the Raimi ๐๐ฑ๐ช๐ฅ๐ฆ๐ณ-๐๐ข๐ฏ movies, and this at least endearing market-tested clumsiness is - at the very least - twenty times more palatable than the intolerable formula market-testing in most of the Phase One/Three MCU flicks. This at least tries to have some fun, good humor, comic book replication, varied story beats, and a palpable edge beyond just its superficial emo-ness. I just can't help but smirk at the moon physics fight sequences or corny needledrops ("All this time I can't believe I couldn't see" with a lingering cut to Matt's eyes, come on man lmao). There's also a pretty rock solid backdrop in here about how most of the characters - good or bad - are motivated by greed or self-interest, so ultimately what we have to judge in the end is what's left when that wealth, pride, and/or power is unceremoniously stripped away from them. That final fight/scene with Kingpin is epic. Comes out much more sorta dorkily awkward as opposed to corporately sinister than it did in its day, because of what this has been replaced with and how immeasurably worse it is.

We meet Lark as she is driving to the new place that she inherited. When she arrives she sees someone in the front window. Things get even more interesting and enjoyable once she comes goes into the house. Her cat is my favorite. How he reacts is funny. I guess if your pet is acting weird you might want to think about it. They seem to be able to sense something or someone.
Kathryn Knight writes a well-written story. Though it seems this one was very heavy in the romance department. He also meets Jesse Holt. What is happening at Holloway House seems to affect Jesse neighbor Lark. He meets him and he comes to Lark recuse the first night. He offers to talk to his mother and her friends to find out who this ghost is.
If you enjoy ghost or ghost stories, this one is good. It seems it should be ghost mystery or at least paranormal mystery. This is good for fans of mystery and or romance as well. My favorite part is the paranormal which is the ghost in it. Why I do not know, could be that I want to know what happens to the ghost and why she there. There are many twists and turns throughout. You will be trying to guess along the way as to what happens and what does this ghost want until the end.

Pennyโs life is a mess - she will be the first to admit it. Her marriage is over, she has walked out on her job and her house, and now has nowhere to live. However, she finds herself rushing to her grandmotherโs rescue when it looks as though Adult Protective Services are going to get involved in her life unless her house is cleaned. Along the way, she meets her grandmotherโs accountant whose living conditions also leave a lot to be desired, her biological father makes an appearance, her grandfather needs her help because of his frankly awful second wife, and we get to see Pennyโs sister in Australia as Penny and her grandfather make a last ditch attempt to find her mother and stepfather. They had gone missing in the outback five years before, and Penny is finding it difficult to accept that theyโre really dead.
This is a really funny book, but boy is it dark. Whilst I was laughing at the predicaments that Penny found herself in, I realised that she seemed to be helping everyone else, and none of these people seemed to be helping or caring for her. She is a quiet voice amidst the shouting and misadventures of her family (her grandmother is really VERY entertaining!), and she just needs someone to take her side and give her a hug (if sheโll let them!).
Itโs an uplifting story all in all, and well worth reading.
