Well, that was … unusual .. to say the least.

This was one of those stories that I'd been meaning to read for ages, but had never really got round to, and proved to (effectively) be a mash-up of Young Adult dystopian future with steampunk.

Steampunk, as a genre, is not one that I've really read all that much in - ab out the only other one that currently springs to mind is Jim Butcher's Cinder Spires series (all one book, so far!), but I tend to associate it more with an alternate past or present than the far future, which is when this one is set.

The main draw for me - and, I'm sure, many others - was the central concept of cities on wheels, cities that need to keep mobile and scavenge/attack each other in order to keep going - or, as it is described here by characters within, of 'Municipal Darwinism'.

While I found the writing and general plot a bit - how shall I say? - lacklustre? flat? I did enjoy the central premise of the story, and may come back to the world to see what else happens in future instalments.

Question
Other than having a blank page and the prompt appears, is there another way to add a show? I've been trying to add a show called Ashes of Love so that I can review it in the near future, but whenever I type in the title, iZombie shows up so I can't add it.

Hi @Becca Major,

If you are using a desktop device, then on the side bar menu there is a + button next to the TV category button.

If you are using a mobile device, then you can click the + button on the bottom task bar and then select 'New Item' on the right hand side. You can then choose what category the item belongs to and can create the item.

If you have any problems with this then please let us know!

Thanks,

Sam ?

Fun but a tad dated Rogwr Corman take on the Cannonball Run. Violent, and darkly comic
The remake by the crappier of the Paul Anderson's is a remake in name only, and even then, only part of the title

Well done presenting the history of this storyline and portraying the conflicting ideologies minorities face in light of history, present, and future. Hard not to leave this movie without thinking about modern social issues, yet these were not “in your face” throughout the movie - ie not forced. The powerful female characters were breathtaking and refreshing!!!

Daniel Craig makes an excellent James Bond, this re-sparked the franchise
This is a very solid addition to a franchise that went a bit too wild and cartoony. This one added depth and gravitas to the role. It made me hopeful for future bond movies... plus here's a cool alternate movie poster.

A strange film and a must for gamers. Set in the future where virtual reality games rule, this follows the latest game to be unveiled which leaves it hard to tell the difference between the game and reality. A great idea, but would benefit from repeat viewings to fully grasp what is going on!

Smashbomb has provided a brilliant platform for discussion for many movie/tv/gaming fans and I look forward to seeing where it can go in the future.
