Too short
Why?
OK, to be fair I am not a massive reader of all things DC or Marvel, but in my youth I read enough good story's about Batman, Superman et al to know that this film should have been amazing. Instead someone just shoved a lesser known villian in a short story using some DC lore they had read and decided to misuse. Such an absolute waste of a great cast and potential. I wanted to love the movie, and even convinced my wife to watch it with me!

I'm glad it was better than I thought it would be
D.C. Should just give Patty Jenkins anything she wants. She made a well thought out blockbuster with heart and brains. I love the world she created for Diana and woukd love to revisit the island. Other than some pacing problems I had, this was the movie that I had hoped it would be. Loved Gal gadot and I am curious to see Diana/WW and her interaction with people of those times.

Fast & Furious (2009)

With all the ridiculous shit that happens in these movies, the most unrealistic part is how much Gal Gadot thirsts over Vin Diesel....

Nice to see (some of) the original cast back together, but Fast & Furious is unfortunately a forgettable entry into the series. There are of course some fun action scenes but the well portrayed sense of family and friendship from the first movie isn't translated too well here, and it's ultimately lost under a shambling plot with a boring villain.

Still enjoyed it mind, and it's low key hilarious how Vin Diesel's growly mumbling becomes a little more inaudible with each passing movie.

Well it's definitely the best DC film so far...
Despite the rave reviews for this film, I hadn't been expecting much mainly as DC films of late haven't really been very good (excluding Nolan's of course). Wonder Woman is by far the best DC film out of the recent bunch, but I'm afraid that's all it really has going for it.

Gal Gadot is a good casting choice as Diana and she does very well. Chris Pine too is perhaps underused but fairly charismatic. I did wonder whether Ewen Bremner is required to play the same character in every film? Or he's sadly just been typecast.

The main issue with this film is the week villain and the ridiculous CGI. There was no real threat of anything from Ares and as with most other superhero films lately, he came across as a very boring and poor adversary. And he was made up of far too much CGI. The whole film really had too much CGI in general, too much slow motion and most of it looked a bit shoddy. Less is more! And the plot itself set within a world war all seemed very Captain America, which was done quite a long time ago now!

In all it was an alright superhero film, with a good female lead. I just wouldn't go out of my way to watch it again.

I want to be an Amazon
The opening of this film was spectacular. the use of athletes as amazon was genious and worked better than anything CGI could produce. I truley was excited by this film and then they left the Island.

Unfortunely I found the middle to be far to long didnt feel a great connection between Diana and Steve on boat or in London. Honestly if those scence where a lot shorter I would of given this film a 10/10. however they kept the length and for me it ruined the film. The last half hour was great and the opening was stunning.

Another Great Movie From The DCEU
Wonder Woman is a great addition to the DCEU, I've loved every movie from the DCEU (Except Suicide Squad ?)

Man of Steel and Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice are up there with my favourite superhero movies

Wonder Woman brings a lighter tone and more family friendly viewing to the DCEU,

The story was quite generic, the villain wasn't the best, but overall the movie was a visual treat

Gal Gadot and Chris Pines chemistry on the screen is enough to keep you watching, and the action sequences are superbly filmed

Overall this movie has pushed the DCEU in the right direction

Well worth the watch

Wonder Woman.

Deadpool.

Black Adam.

All in the same movie; a wannabe twisty-turny crime thriller in which a framed FBI agent (played by Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson) has to team up with his former notorious art thief target (Ryan Reynolds) to clear his name and to catch the new '#1 art thief in the world' thief aka The Bishop (Gal Gadot).

I found this to be reminiscent of the Nic Cage starring 'National Treasure' series, with the main characters all globe-trotting around the world in pursuit of the McGuffin, and with the interplay between Johnson and Reynolds raising a few laughs/raised eyebrows along the way.

In short: good, but not brilliant.

WW dot Well Worth Waiting for Gadot
The long delayed release of the Wonder Woman sequel has finally happened, and it is well worth waiting for.

Gal Gadot is fabulous as the Amazonian beauty (and then some) with Chris Pine reprising his role from the first thing. (Of all the WTF moments of 2020 trailers, this was top of the list.... just HOW? A McGuffin is involved, but no spoilers here!).

In brief, Patty Jenkins delivers a popcorn blockbuster than has legs (over and above Gadot's perfect specimens!): the Goblet-of-Fire-Potteresque pre-title sequence is thrilling and engaging. And the story builds cleverly through the first half of the movie. Above all, there is a heap of HEART involved here.... this is not your run of the mill supervillain showdown flick. In fact, it's a movie with TWO villain (normally a doom-laden premise for this reviewer... "Spider Man 3".... shudder), but here it really works well.

Sure, there is a requirement for a suspension of belief, but - hey - it's a DC movie. On a slight downside, the second half of the movie - for me -unfortunately doesn't quite live up to the promise of first half, blending "Bruce Almighty" with "Superman 2" and rather over-egging the pudding.

But in a morass of B-pics, this sequel is one that is gorgeous to look at (Matthew Jensen's cinematography is superb), gorgeous to listen to (an epic score by Hans Zimmer) and is genuinely engaging. There's also a nice vein of humour running through it... when Kristen Wiig is in a park, a rough sleeper on a bench is reading "Waiting for Godot".... or is it "Waiting for Gadot"??
 It's such a brief scene, I wasn't sure!

Although I DEPLORE the Warner Brother's decision to release their material in parallel to streaming, here is a movie that is WELL WORTH you getting out to the cinema to see... assuming that you can find a UK cinema open (I saw this in the excellent Showcase De Luxe in Southampton).

Oh, and if you are someone who dives for the exit at the first title... resist... there is an excellent mid-title sequence featuring a wonderful cameo for us older folks!

(Please check out the full graphical review on bob-the-movie-man, which will be going live shortly. Thanks).

Dc best movie to date
I have been a fan of wonder woman since I was a little girl. I would sit in front of the tv watching Linda Carter go from Diana to wonder woman with a spin. When I first heard that a movie was definitely happening I was happy but real leary. When gal gadot was cast I was one who just didn't see how she could be diana, but the more I saw for her own movie the more I was on board. This movie was everything it should of been (just wish Lynda Carter would of had a cameo or something) all the characters were likable and the scenes with the amazons were amazing. If there was any flaw I would have to say Ares did not look as good as he could of. Chris pine was great and him and gadot had great chemistry. I am hoping the sequel which will take place in 1984( when I was 9) will be just as good. DC should take a look at this and use what made this good into all their love action movies

A whole festive light display, matching hair styles, and a request for money. When Amy, Kiki and Carla's mums (sorry moms) turn up out of the blue they quickly realise that this time they need to take back Christmas.

First Christmas film of the season... if we're not including the fact I watched Die Hard the other day. The first one was such fun that I had to go and see this one. This one is perfect girl's night viewing. I don't know what to say to this one, it's funny, and it's got a gorgeous stripping Santa... ladies, if that doesn't do it for you then I don't know what will. (Oh wait... Jason Momoa and Gal Gadot in Justice League.)
