Bizarre but brings up important themes
Kurt Vonnegut's renowned novel focuses on the destruction of war, the long term mental health issues at the same time how death is trivialized throughout.
Or so it goes.
It borders on ludicrous at the same time reveals the fragmentation of the mind after such trauma. It is unclear how much of the narrator's account is fact or fantasy.
While I'm usually drawn to these themes, the general oddness may have been a step too far without background explanation.

Joe, should you love him or should you fear him? That is what Beck has to decide in this awesome thriller. Who know a trip into a local bookstore would change both of their lives forever? She is a writer, he is a book lover, what could go wrong? A lot! This book has a lot of twists and turns and you won't know who you love, who you fear, who you hate, or what you feel in general. I highly recommend this book to everyone!

Gary Oldman's performance (1 more)
Fascinating story
Powerful
A very interesting film about Churchill during the Darkest hour. He was hastedly put in place as prime minister, had a King who doubted him and his own war cabinet wanted to explore peace talks as the Germans advance on Dunkirk.
Gary Oldman will surely win the best Actor award at the Oscars for his amazing performance. This peek behind the scenes in the war rooms and Churchill in general at such an important point in the war is fascinating.

Dean (6927 KP) rated Tron Legacy (2010) in Movies

I want a Tron bike!
A visually stunning film! I would have loved to catch this at the cinema in 3D to really appreciate it. It has very cool sets, amazing SFX that takes CGI to the next level. It has a great soundtrack as well by Daft Punk, a bit more of the Tron bikes would have been nice. Sadly though the plot and story in general don't match the impressive visuals. Instead just marvel at the awesome light suits and technical excellence of the film!

Ross (3284 KP) rated Arrow - Season 4 in TV
May 28, 2018
Season 4 was a bit of a drop in quality, the antagonist Damien Dhark (or some other spelling) being much more hammy and cheesy than previously. It says a lot of someone can out-ham John Barrowman! Dharkkkhk (or whatever) is able to control people through mystical powers and seems unstoppable and hell-bent on taking control of the city by any means necessary. There are some good moments within the season, but in general it is a definite step-down and more of the same.

Story in general
This is my first John Green read and I quite enjoyed it. I had heard a lot about this book before I read it and tried to start it a while ago but put it down for some reason. I’m glad I picked it up again and read it through. I really liked how strong the characters were, I liked that the story did fully focus on the romance between the characters and I’m happy with how the book ended.

A Mother and A Daughter Bond
My mum. Best Mum Ever. In the Whole Entire Universe.
But mums, in general, are amazing. They handle everything without breaking a sweat and still manage to look fabulous.
We all love our mum's. Because they look after us, love us and care for us. And we trust in our mums with our whole heart and we love them unconditionally.
This is what this book is about.
