Amazing story
Studio Ghibli creates an amazing film
Animation can be a very hit or miss genre of film. The Red Turtle is very much a hit. This film deals with multiple themes of friendship, loneliness, life and death just to name a few. The style of this film, created by Studio Ghibli, is a beautiful artistic piece that is each frame of this movie. With very little dialogue, this movie is all about show and don't tell. if you are a fan at all of artistic films, then this is the one for you.

Bonkers
Let's be honest, a Studio Ghibli film is never going to bad and is most usually going to be a little bit weird and wonderful. Well Ponyo is about as wacky and bonkers as you can get for a storyline, and you spend most of this film wondering what on earth you're watching. Which isn't a bad thing, it's just a bit surreal.

The animation side is wonderful as always and it's a heartwarming story, albeit a bit crazy. I wouldn't say it's one of my favourite Studio Ghibli films, but its still a fun family entertaining animation.

Amazing story set in the latter end of WW2, focusing on a preteen boy and his little sister. There isn't many happy moments in this one. And it hits hard.

Beautiful Movie
The animation is beautiful, a credit to the previous Ghibli crew. I felt that the story lacked in ways and it left me wanting more when it was over. Still enjoyable but could have used a better story arc. Somewhat predictable and then falling short of other expectations, it is still worth a watch.

This movie is my childhood. Howl is the guy I aspire to be with and Sophie is the whimsical beauty I wish I could be. It is by far my favourite Studio Ghibli movie and will continue to be far into the future. I love the story and the romance, how Howl and Sophie battle things together and eventually realise their love for each other. Beautiful.

An excellent adaption of a brilliant book
The music. Oh my beating heart.
English dub specific: you CANNOT go wrong with Billy Crystal.
IMO: The very best of Studio Ghibli.
Such a delightful movie. Everything about it makes me happy, or content, or understanding of the world, or takes the edge off whatever is bothering me IRL.

Weird, just weird
1st time that I've watched one of the Studio Ghibli films and I've got to be honest it wasnt my cup of tea. Bit like the Lion, the witch and the wardrobe, with a different storyline arc. Very strange and a bit of a mind trip.
Like I say, not for me, but lots of people love it. 8/9 for some. Just a 6 for me

I'm always curious to watch a documentary about filmmakers and their craft. This documentary was very interesting to watch. I've seen two Miyazaki films and three Studio Ghibli films. It was very interesting to see a little bit of the men behind the films. The way that they think and the way that they act. I don't think that The Kingdom of Dreams and Madness was the best doc I've watched, but it was interesting nonetheless.

Another masterpiece by Studio Ghibli. This is a fantastic movie with great attention to detail and some fantastic interpretation of classic Japanese mythology. This is a beautiful tale of respect and the hunt for peace between humans and spirits. It gives the message that we need to respect nature and all that it provides for us. We may have strayed from nature in some areas of the world but we can still respect it and all that comes from nature.

Not quite in the same league as other Japanese animations
Just like those crazy Studio Ghibli films of fantastic tales and amazing creatures, Laika productions (famous for Coraline) has created a stop motion animation using Japanese folklore. Now as a fan of Ghibli, I can say that this is no way near that league although the animation is always amazing to behold.

The story is rather tragic of a boy from a magical powerful family, who has escaped with his mother as a baby, losing an eye in the process, and growing up to play an instrument that has the power to control paper. Both he and his mother are poor, livingin a cave, hiding away from this family - his father has also perished in this initial battle. However, they are found and his mother gives him her powers to escape and try and find a way of defeating her sisters and father.

It's a quest-based film, filled with perilous obstacles and while it was sad at times - I just don't think it was as heartfelt as other Japanese animations. The voices of Matthew McConaughey and Charlize Theron is always fantastic to hear though.
