Thoroughly Enjoyable
Well I’m so glad I watched this, I love the Haunted House and Ghost Train rides at fairgrounds so this was right up my street.
I didn’t think the film was scary as such, but there were certainly some very creepy moments, and I felt the vivid lighting also gave the film a distinctive edge.
Well acted, well put together and thoroughly refreshing for the horror genre, this makes an excellent night’s viewing if you just want a fright without too much baggage.
The most enjoyable horror I’ve seen since the Final Destination movies. Scored 9 out of 10 as I felt the ending was disappointing, I feel a twist of some kind would have made it a perfect 10.

Entertaining
Well, this movie was better than expected. A good ghost story for a dark night. The acting and cinematography were very well done. The story didn't take long getting to the "meat" of the plot. It unfolded well and kept me anticipating the next scene. I didn't expect the ending to be so... "simple" but it didn't take away from the entertainment value. This one also isn't too gory or anything for the younger movie watchers(though maybe not the REALLY young ones) in the family. Good for a family "scary movie night". If you do those sort of movie nights. Speaking of kids, the child actors in this movie did a fantastic job. This one is really worth a watch!

I did not enjoy the book as much as her other ones. I love Hahns ghost stories and those that deal with the paranormal (Look For Me By Moonlight). This novel was more thriller/suspense than her usual horror.
All always the people Hahn creates have such character and her story is flawless. That being said, it just was not my genre. There was no trace of the paranormal and fantasy in this book, and it left me wanting. It was also predictable. Hahn writes for a much younger generation, but yet, so all her novels are predictable.
I cannot give this book a low rating because there was genuinely nothing wrong with it. It simply was not my cup of tea.

If you know me, besides true crime, you will know I love ghost stories. Especially true accounts of them. That made this the perfect book for me. I found this at a used book store in the city of Orange, California when I was visiting my friends and it was so cheap, I couldn't pass it up. With so many first person true accounts as well as descriptions of famous haunted places around the world, it was indeed an interesting read. I loved how it was broken up into sections of similar stories, so that will make it easier to go back to if I find it necessary (which I most definitely will at some point)! Brad Steiger, great job compiling this book!

Erika Kehlet (21 KP) rated Doggone It (Dreamwalker, #3) in Books

Book 3 of The Dreamwalker Series.
I frequently read paranormal cozies, but this was my first encounter with a ghost dog! Baxleys abilities as a dreamwalker were unique, and when they stopped working for her, it added a whole new layer of conflict to the story. The mystery kept me guessing, the characters were entertaining, and the paranormal element was a lot of fun.
Doggone It is book #3 in the Dreamwalker series, but the first one that I read. I had no trouble figuring out what was going on, or who was who, but I wish I would have read the other books just to have seen the characters relationships develop firsthand.
NOTE: I voluntary read and reviewed an advanced copy.

Classic Carpenter!
Director John Carpenter had a lot to live up to and deliver after his striking masterpiece Halloween. He decided to tell an old school ghost story about a coastal town in northern California which is cursed and subject to a mysterious "Fog" which rolls into town and carries ghoulies within its misty depths.
Not as well known or remembered as some other Carpenter works, The Fog still delivers some creepy scares and gruesome death scenes reminiscent of other Carpenter films.
Great cast of vintage horror icons like Janie Lee Curtis, Janet Leigh and Adrienne Barbeau make the story more enjoyable and believable.
The film shows its age in parts, but is still an enjoyable horror classic.
