By far one of best I have read in a long time. This is exactly the type of ghost stories I love to read! Hahn delivered yet again.

The story chronicles Ali traveling with her aunt up to Michigan to babysit her younger cousin. I think what make this novel so remarkable is that it is one of her less predictable ones. Hahn does not lay everything out for you in the beginning. Instead, she gives you bits and pieces at a time and you place them together.

I also loved that the ghost was not evil, per se. Of course, she had her flaws as do all Hahn’s characters. However, she did evoke some sympathy.

If you appreciate a good ghost story, I highly recommend it. Again, Hahn writes for a younger generation, but this is a good ole’ fashion ghost story that needs zero tricks to keep the reader interested.

This book had a great story. It was very shocking because the main character dies in part one of the book. I like the author's perspective on what it might be like to be a ghost. She gives Delia a lot of power and develops her character quite nicely. The twist about who the malicious ghost is was quite a surprise.

Perfect for younger young-adult readers. This reads like a classic Dickensian ghost story, plenty of creepiness but nothing that will keep a young reader awake at night! This story was very well told, and I enjoyed it even though it was written for a much younger audience.

This is an ok thriller/horror.....but it's one of those that is all about the build up with a slightly disappointing ending. If you like ghost story type films you may enjoy it more.

Niffenegger’s second novel is a semi-ghost story, which confirms her ability to make magical realism feel practically natural and believable. You can read my revised review here https://tcl-bookreviews.com/2015/04/23/twins-and-ghosts/

A beautifully crafted ghost story full of atmosphere and vivid poignancy. The themes it portrays about war and grief are unsentimentalised yet moving. The backdrop of cold, winter and snow are on one hand symbolic of emotion but on the other are personnified to become almost a second protagonist. I'm a huge fan of classic ghost stories and loved Mosse's multi-layered tale with its historic and emotional twists.

I love Susan Hill's ghost stories. She is masterful at creating atmosphere and suspense. This was a very chilling, spooky story - a definite no-no for anyone who is scared of dolls. Great twists and a really fun read.
