I often wonder if they'll create a word in my lifetime that will be able to describe how wonderful you are. I feel like even an attempt would be fruitless, but that doesn't stop me from contemplating it. There are so many things that I need to tell you, so many sights that I need to see with you, so many mistakes that I need to make with you. Giving someone their all is proven to be one of the most difficult things for the human psyche to endure, yet everyday that is all that I wish to do. Whenever I see you, I feel as if I have burst through the surface of water and emerged to take a long exhale. You are my breath. When I see you, time slows and becomes my puppet. I treat it as I please and spin it in a way that maximizes the amount of living that I can achieve with you in the span we are given. I never labeled myself as a person of curiosity, yet you never fail to leave me on the edge of my seat during conversations. I am silent because I am anticipating every word that comes out of your mouth. I crave the tales you relay to me over dinner. I worry that at any moment someone will snap their fingers and it will break me from the allure of the trance you have entangled me in, or worse yet, I'll wake up in a cold sweat alone on a love seat somewhere i cannot remember. That's how delicate the beauty of your words are. Your eyes could pierce my heart in an instant and your smile could throw me into a catatonic state. It's not your attractiveness that does it, although you always look stunning, it's the stories behind your eyes and smile that do it for me. I know the wear and tear that constructs every one of those smiles and glances, which makes them even more vulnerable and valuable. Comparatively, I am but a meek and mere boy observing the greatness of one of the strongest and most determined women on Earth. And I couldn't be happier doing anything else but that.

Merissa (13197 KP) rated Blossom and the Beast (The Alder Tales #1) in Books
Jun 8, 2023
In Blossom and the Beast, Blossom is the youngest daughter of a clan chief. Her father has a fox for a totem animal, her three brothers are bears(!), and it is suspected that Blossom will be the same. She has a very inquisitive mind and struggles against the rules and traditions that bind her under the canopy. On a trip out of camp (when she shouldn't have been) she is spotted by Kaide. He immediately wants her in his life and does whatever it takes to ensure it. He is determined to win her over though, so he treats her with every respect.
With political manoeuvrings galore, plus a sweet and sensual romance, this book is more than just a Fairy Tale Retelling! This is an amazing book in its own right, and should definitely be recognised as such. Amazing story, with well-rounded and believable characters, this story will entice and enthral.
I will say one thing about the ending without giving out any spoilers - BE CAREFUL!!! When I finished the ending, my Kindle nearly went for a burton! It was so close to hitting the wall as I stomped around my home in disbelief. Without giving too many details, I sort of knew how it was going to end, without knowing the specific details. When those details came to life, I screeched as I couldn't believe it. It was a train wreck that I could see happening, without any means of stopping it! I was actually complaining to Blossom (my Kindle) about her actions and what she should have done instead - much to the amusement of my husband may I just add!
With no editing or grammatical errors that I found, this story certainly deserves its 5-star rating. Absolutely fantastic and I really, REALLY, can't wait for the second book to see where it will go.

Seeing Alfie again, after so long was hard, but again he is persistent, with a love like theirs coming only once in a life time. After talking with her best friend Jack, Lily is starting to think that maybe she needs to take another chance with Jack
With everything nearly perfect between Lily and Alfie, Lily’s friend reminds her that it is her that is putting the distance between them, that she is saying that she can’t have music and Alfie, and she can if she tries.
When the media starts posting photos, with Lily having no contact with Alfie since she left, it starts to have a major impact on their relationship, leaving Lily wondering if they still have one.
After a tragedy Lily realises that she can have Music and Alfie too, and they get their happily ever after.

To explain my negative comment above, it was only when I purchased the second book and on browsing the contents page, that I found a pronunciation guide. I had been imagining different ways of saying certain names and had to re imagine them when beginning the next book. A guide, such as the one found in the second, would have been useful in Throne of Glass.

Larry Eisner (2082 KP) rated Logan (2017) in Movies

Honestly, not much more can be said without giving away the plot.
Here’s what I can and will say:
Logan (Wolverine, as played by the forever perfect wolverine, Hugh Jackman) is older, but still mostly in his prime, but his adamantium skeleton had side effects over time.
Professor X, played by the always perfect (in even terribly flawed films) Jean Luc Pic- whoops! I mean, Patrick Stewart! Is fantastic and aged and is being cared for by Logan.
A child enters the scene. And she’s powered. And connected to Logan in ways he doesn’t want to admit. He reluctantly agrees to help her, and adventure, drama and true beautiful storytelling await.
I can not recommend this film enough. It’s not perfection. It’s not filmicly glorious. It’s simply the ultimate epitome of the genre and done flawlessly as such. Worth every penny to own and yes, you will cry. Oh yes, even you.

Sabine and Bennet's characters were complex and perfect for their roles in the story. The secret being held, watching them interact, seeing the honor that is among the pages of this endearing read, made for a quick, fun read! I loved the way Lady Sabine and Sir Bennet interacted and watching their feelings for each other shine through.
I give this book no less than 4 stars. It's a quick read, and those who enjoy happy ever afters, fairy tale style settings and characters that will make their home in your heart, then you must grab Ms. Hedlund's book. It's definitely a surprising read and I am looking forward to giving her other books a try! Great job, Ms. Hedlund!
