Finding Home by Meg Harding
Finding Home starts off with Jared. He has lost his job, is living back with his mother as his husband cheated with someone else, and now he finds out that his grandma has died. His mother wants him out of the house so she sends him off to hell (Florida in May) where he finds more than he bargained for, and learns about just who he is and what he wants.
This is a sweet and steamy, low angst, story full of feel-good factors. Jared's brothers are all brilliant, and Chase is... well, Chase is Chase and I wouldn't change a thing. Jared's neuroses were a tad annoying to start with, but as his story became clear, all was forgiven as I literally couldn't see him growing up any differently given the circumstances.
One thing I loved in particular (without giving away any spoilers) is when Jared does something that others might not agree with, but he does it for himself, for his own reasons, and to find things out about himself. I LOVED THAT!!! He is aware of what jumping into something might be like, but he is prepared to work with himself to ensure that everything goes the way it should.
With no editing or grammatical errors that disrupted my reading flow, this was a page-turner that had humour, family, hotness, and love. Definitely recommended by me.

How to write a review without giving spoilers, when there is so much I want to say!? I will say that, if you don't know by now, Wanda Brunstetter is one of my absolute favorite Amish novelists. She never fails to hook me with her books and keep me entertained the entire way through. And, The Blessing, book 2 in her Amish Cooking Class series is no exception! I was hooked from the beginning and held captive til the very end. True talent!
The Blessing picks up where book 1, The Seekers, left off. Heidi and Lyle Troyer are adopting a baby but a sad circumstance leaves Heidi heartbroken and once again teaching a class to occupy her mind. She, once again, opens her home to strangers and the fun begins! Each new character brings something special to the story and I loved watching Heidi interact with them. The messages thrown into the story and watching the characters realize what those messages were, was truly refreshing!
This book is deserving of so much more than 5 stars! Mrs. Brunstetter has created another wonderful novel that every Amish fiction fan (and those that are new to the genre!) will fall in love with. Not only with her writing style, but also with the characters. They quickly become a part of the reader! I highly recommend this book to all book lovers! Hats off to the talented Mrs. Brunstetter, once again! One of my favorite legal suspense authors is Rachel Dylan. Her writing style is genuine and unique and her characters always come to life for me as I read her books. I had the pleasure of reading books 1 and 2 in this amazing series, and now, I've had the delight to read book 3. It was so refreshing going back to Atlanta and feeling like the story was written just for me.
I loved getting to see Mia and Noah's story unfold. Their pain, their struggles, the twists and turns of the plot, all jumped off the pages and captured me completely. Noah's character was absolutely my favorite, and I fell in love with him so hard in this story! Mia's character was incredibly luck to have him protecting her!
Ms. Dylan's talent for intricately weaving a legal thriller into an unforgettable read is amazing. She does a fantabulous job at research, and blending it with her awesome messages of hope, love, forgiveness and mercy.
This is the third book in her ATLANTA JUSTICE series. I highly recommend it be read in the series, and not as a stand alone. The full effect of this author's talent and her amazing characters that become family is best felt reading the books in the entire series. Ms. Dylan has once again created a phenomenally amazing, heart-pounding story of edge-of-your-seat suspense. Definitely giving this one a high 4 star rating and two thumbs up.

A Chilling Psychological Thriller with Gothic Elements
This book caught my eye as I loved the synopsis and I read a lot of books from this genre, although I haven’t read any of the author, Richard Montanari’s books before. “The Buried Girl” is a chilling psychological thriller with some added Gothic elements.
When the wife of a New York psychologist, Will Hardy, is murdered he moves into Godwin Hall, a dusty, shut-up mansion in the small town of Abbeville, Ohio, with his teenage daughter, Bernadette.
At the same time, Abbeville Chief of Police Ivy Holgrave is investigating the death of a local girl. She is convinced this may only be the latest in a long line of murders dating back decades, including her own long-missing sister.
But what place does Will's new home have in the story of the missing girls and why does he have past memories of Godwin Hall? Is the diary of a young woman, written over a century earlier, linked to the killings?
Richard Montanari writes a wonderfully atmospheric and compelling novel. Tense and suspenseful, the many threads of the story slowly begin to link together, central to which is Godwin Hall. Both the characterisation and the plot are superb with the three main characters damaged, but starting the process of recovery. I am hoping that there will be a sequel to this novel as it was a fantastic read which I highly recommend to lovers of thrillers and crime fiction.

I didn’t expect to like this as much as I did, to be honest. When I opened the book and first met Lexi, I absolutely hated her. She’s spoilt, throws tantrums and is throwing her life away out of choice. She survives off Daddy’s credit card (if only!) and it is a wonder that she even has friends.
But then as the book goes on, you get to know Lexi. I loved her character development. To be able to read the change in her attitude and see the person behind the drugs was amazing. The way the novel is written shows how much the drugs affected Lexi’s personality, and the change was completely unexpected. To see a character who I thought was selfish and ignorant turn into a loving and caring friend in rehab was heartwarming as well as being extremely true.
In the beginning Lexi tricks the reader into believing all of her lies. I certainly didn’t realise that she was taking the reader for a ride and when I found out that she was lying about some things (not giving any spoilers here!) it truly shocked me. She’s manipulative – but in a way that you expect from an addict.

Forever Layla is a story of love, happiness, trust, and science all wrapped up in one. David is living in 1994 and Layla shows up in his life from 2014. David is the kind of man every girl dreams of meeting, but Layla is afraid to mess up his life what she already knows. How can she make a life with him without giving away too much about who she is and how and why is now in his life.
This is a very well written book and it was very difficult to put down.
I loved the story of David and Layla. I was rooting for them to be together Forever as the title suggests. Their love was intense and amazing. To have a love like that with someone that you are willing to give up so much of yourself in order to make them happy and make their dreams come true.

Shot to the heart
#theoldmanandthegun is not only a #lovely fresh take on the #heist genre its also a #wonderful finale to #robertredford's career in #film too. Set mostly in the early #80s the film does a remarkable job of feeling #vintage/old fashioned from the way its shot, to the use of film grain, its #charming style, the soundtrack & the sets. Everything is so lovingly #crafted & it all flows together so #beautifully that I felt transported back in time right from its opening. Watching this film was also such a pleasant experience, its got such a warmth to it & its so ridiculously #charming/stylish & #heartfelt that I couldnt help #smiling most of its run time. TOMATG is a modern film set in the past that plays out more like an old #wildwest film & its not only clearly inspired by old #western movies but its also its self a great homage to Robert Redfords career & magnificent look back through the history of film & how far we have advanced technologically. Acting is stellar all round with Redford giving such a likeable, charming & #cheeky preformance that you can really tell he had fun with this character. #caseyaffleck is also great playing a cop that has everything but still isnt #happy in life & the scenes Redford & him share together are golden. A film about #passion, #drive, #love, living life to its fullest, never growing up & change thats full of such heart/soul that its not only powerful & moving but tremendous #fun/full of motivating & inspiring themes. #aprayerbeforedawn is a relentless, hard hitting, dizzying trip into the world of addiction while incarcerated in a #notorious foreign prison. #prayerbeforedawn is the true story of #english #boxer #billymoore who is sent prison in #thailand?? & the film uses real #prisoners as cast. More like an experience than a film prayer is exhausting, relentless & at times a tuff watch. Everything intimidates here & with most of the dialog spoken not being in english or having subtitles we are made to feel as alone, frightened & intimidated as Billy. #violence is kept mostly off screen but to good effect giving it a more raw, savage & disturbing feel leaving the worst to your imagination. Sound design is incredible too be it the dread filled #soundtrack or the seemingly ramped up unnerving volume of #prison life around Billy everything seems to make you #anxious & under threat. Billy is #strong physically but his mind is #damaged/tortured & its almost as if #fighting & #drugs are his only escapism. Its depressing seeing him go from seemingly untouchable to a weak/#scared kid & with physical danger everywhere his mind starts to become more & more unstable. #joecole gives such a mesmerising performance here, you feel his #pain, #fear, paranoia & torture & admire what little #fight he has left in him. Infact whats going on in the prison could essentially be a metaphore for the stuggles going on in his head. Visually depressing but stunningly #gorgeous its almost like the director took inspiration from #nicholaswindingrefn #onlygodforgives & even uses some of its talented cast too. I really cant recommend this film enough it truly is a remarkable film & such an incredible, sad & powerful #truestory. #odeon #odeonlimitless #thursdaythoughts #fighter #boxing
