My main thought when I finished Consequences: WTF?!?
At the beginning, I was a little weary of continuing to read it. I initially hoped Aleatha planned to introduce some knight-in-shining-armor to save Claire from the monster that is Anthony. When I got far enough to realize that wasn't happening, I actually debated whether or not I should keep reading or come to a stop. It was a bit depressing and I hated (still do) Anthony with a passion. I didn't understand what the storyline could do for me. Luckily, I'm stubborn and I refused to quit reading. I'm really glad I did, because Consequences was totally worth reading all the way through. Despite a kind of lengthy, boring middle, the rest kept me intrigued and, sometimes, disgusted. Throughout the whole book, I kept saying, "I should stop reading. I'm definitely not reading the rest of this series." Of course, I did keep reading, and I definitely WANT to read the rest of this series. The ending was a complete shocker and I'm more than ready to figure out what happens in the second book.
That all being said, I've rated Consequences a 3, because there's not a 1/2 star option and I feel like 4 stars might be too much. I mainly rated it a 3 1/2, instead of a 4, because the book had my feelings stretched out beyond my normal limit. Normally, this would be a good thing, but some of the content is what officially determined my final rating. Despite only giving it a 3 1/2, I am very interested in finishing this series!

I went to London Super Comic Con on Friday and bought a few image books/graphic novels (I can't wait to read them!) and decided to start taking advantage of my boyfriend's extensive comic/graphic novel collection. As I've been intending to read The Killing Joke for ages now, I decided to start with that.
The edition I read included an introduction by Tim Sales, an afterword by Brian Bolland, and a final scene written and illustrated by Bolland.
This is one of the most famous and successful novels - and I can see why. The story is just fantastic - the Joker tries to prove that anyone can go insane after just one bad day, using Jim Gordon as his example. The colour palettes are so cleverly thought out, giving an eerie, creepy tone to most scenes, while the Joker's (possible) origin story is mostly black and white with just small details in red.
Batman is obviously included, but is not a massive character in this story. The focus is on the Gordons and the Joker.
I really loved this. The origin story for the Joker that's included can be taken as true or false - the Joker makes a comment about not actually remembering his past, and liking it to be "multiple choice". This gives the reader the choice of believing it or not. And the Joker's ways of putting Jim Gordon through hell are definitely in line with his character.
The Joker always fascinates me, and I would love to read all his stories. But whether you're a "fan" of his or not, this book is definitely worth the read. 5 stars; an fantastic novel.

This was the first film in quite some time that has had a trailer that accurately portrayed what you ended up viewing. So often I find I'm confused about something or, surprisingly, end up wondering where a clip from the trailer has actually gone during the film.
Yardie was a good watch. But... I don't really know. I honestly wish I knew what I didn't like about it, perhaps it's more accurate to say that I can't actually say what I was wowed by in it. The music is the one thing that I consistently enjoyed overall.
I'm familiar with the accent, but even I found it difficult to follow at the beginning, and while there's lingo too, it isn't difficult to decipher that in the context of the scenes. As we left the screen a woman behind me said she felt it needed subtitles, to which her boyfriend just laughed. As you go through the film it does get easier to understand, but there's no denying that it will lose some people on the journey. That being said, if they'd sacrificed the authentic accents then it wouldn't have been true to its roots.
I don't know the story it's based on, I would imagine the film is going to be fairly accurate giving the authenticity of everything involved. The ending of the film left me with no real feeling of pleasure considering the lead up to it.
What should you do?
You should see this one. I might not have enjoyed it as much as I was hoping but it's still an interesting story.

Omega Stolen is the first book in the Northern Lodge Pack series, and we get a fine introduction into just who they are, and why this pack was formed and living where it is. Kai doesn't have the best of starts (to say the least) and it says a lot when his life actually takes a turn for the better when he is sold by his father! Although he will be forced to have sex and possibly a pup, and then forced into giving up said pup, that hasn't actually happened yet. For the first time, he is fed and has friends. Luckily for him, Jenny is there and her brother is looking for her. Jake is determined to find his sister, and once he finds out she has others she won't leave behind, they're all on their way.
This was a fast-paced book, with no excess of words or scenes. It is very sweet, with the huge BOOM of instant mates. However, for a quick, sassy read, it was absolutely brilliant, and just what I needed. I don't know if I have read an updated version, but there were no editing, spelling, or grammar mistakes that disrupted my reading. Each chapter was titled with who was speaking so there was no confusion there.
A quick, hot, MM Shifter Mpreg book that I thoroughly enjoyed and have no hesitation in recommending.

This was a fast-paced book, with no excess of words or scenes. It is very sweet, with the huge BOOM of instant mates. However, for a quick, sassy read, it was absolutely brilliant, and just what I needed. I don't know if I have read an updated version, but there were no editing, spelling, or grammar mistakes that disrupted my reading. Each chapter was titled with who was speaking so there was no confusion there.
A quick, hot, MM Shifter Mpreg book that I thoroughly enjoyed and have no hesitation in recommending.
