Cynthia Armistead (17 KP) rated Skin Trade (Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter #17) in Books
Mar 1, 2018
I kept saying I was giving up on Hamilton's books, then giving her just one more chance as each novel came out, hoping that at some point she'd give up the porn and write real novels again. With this volume, the effort is finally vindicated.
Don't get me wrong--there's definitely sex in Skin Trade. Sex with yet more new men, even! But it doesn't start happening 'til well into the book, and when it does occur there's a lot more justification for it than at some times in the past. It's still explicit, and there are still likely to be more than two people in any given bed at a time, but if any of that squicked you, you wouldn't be reading any of her work.
The book nearly earned four stars, but there were a few plot holes that bothered me too much to forget them.

Dean (6927 KP) rated A Bad Moms Christmas (2017) in Movies

Not quite the gift that keeps on giving
The first Bad moms film was hilarious, mainly down to the chemistry of the three main characters. This has a great cast including the grand moms... But it lacks a bit of what made the first film so funny. It still has it's funny moments just not as many as the first film.
Tigs85 (21 KP) rated Bones- Season 1 in TV
Jul 16, 2017
Character dynamics (1 more)
Strong female lead
Bone lady
In the battle between brains and brawn, it's nice to watch brains come out on top in the looks department! Although the social ineptness of highly intelligent people is portrayed, it's refreshing to see the journey each character makes throughout each season. The storylines aren't as far-fetched as some may perceive, with the fantastic Kathy Reichs giving her anthropological insight to the script.
Haley Mathiot (9 KP) rated Triangle of Deception in Books
Apr 27, 2018
Triangle of Deception is one of those sit-on-the-edge-of-your-seat books. It’s book four of a series but it makes a wonderful standalone. I don’t want to say too much for fear of giving anything away! Fast paced, energetic, and exciting, this is one that any crime-thriller lover won’t want to miss.

Auburn (57 KP) rated 99% Faking It in Books

Fake it till you make it and let your nerd flag fly. This book is everything a nerdy bookish girl could ever dream of. The plot is simple but for anyone who dreams of a nerdy happily ever after this is a one sitting read. References to popular book stores and fandoms make it that much more enjoyable.
Thank you for giving me the opportunity to read this and review.

Short but sweet, naughty and nice, and sooooo funny, Tiffany Reisz has done it again. A brilliant read for an afternoon, and it's really easy to get along with that its as if you already know the characters.
Such a thoughtful wedding pressie from a character from another book ( sorry, i am not giving it away ;-))
I love the Bell hop, I think I might need more of him x

When Netflix started it was an alternative to video stores. Now that Blockbuster is gone, Netflix has decided to all but give up on giving us new and classic studio movies to watch in favor of original programming. Now we're paying for essentially another network. I'd rather them have Blade, Alien, Old School and all the movies I want to see rather than 13 Reasons or whatever.
Claire (89 KP) rated MANIA by Fall Out Boy in Music

A different sound but in a good way
This album is amazing! The boys have shown what they can do in a new way, creating songs that are a bit different from the usual fall out boy sound. I was lucky enough to see them live recently & this album done live is just amazing!!! Love it!!
The Craggus (360 KP) rated A Simple Favor (2018) in Movies

There's no such thing as A Simple Favour (2018) #Review
From the opening strains of Jean Paul Keller’s “Ca S'est Arrange”, you can practically feel Paul Feig donning on a black turtleneck and slipping into auteurship with a mischievous sense of insouciance. He’s in playful mood indeed as he indulges his inner Hitchcock even as he can’t quite resist giving in to his quirky comedic instincts...
