Garthy (203 KP) rated Folk Hop n' Roll by Judah & The Lion in Music
Aug 15, 2017
Really impressed by the quality of the sound from these guys. (1 more)
It's a little bit different, so if you fancy giving 'Folky Hip Hop' a whirl -this is where you can.
I'd not listened to these guys before, until I saw them on Smashbomb - that's what this site is all about.

Hans Ulrich Obrist recommended The Neganthropocene in Books (curated)
Rolling Stone's 368th greatest album of all time
Quite an impressive debut album. As with a lot of 70s albums, it weirdly kicks off with the biggest hit - "Take it Easy". The easy listening plodding mash of rock, country and folk continues throughout the album, giving a good consistent listen.

MusicCritics (472 KP) rated Grateful by DJ Khaled in Music
Aug 24, 2017
Still if it's innovating, exposing unsigned hype to your ears for the first time, and giving producers unfettered credit for their work when they drop hot beats that you want DJ Khaled is not the guy for you.

Phil Maxwell (25 KP) rated a video of Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017) in Movies
Apr 7, 2020
I really couldn't get on with the Tobey McGuire Spiderman movies, so I'm glad another actor has taken the reins.
Judging by the trailer alone it looks like this might be more up my street, a bit of humour, plenty of action. I look forward to giving it a try at some point.

Melanie Caldicott (6 KP) rated Rest: Living in Sabbath Simplicity in Books
Apr 29, 2021
This is a comprehensive book giving a clear, challenging yet simple and realistic exhortation for how to engage in sabbath practice. Overall I found it very helpful with good ideas and practical advice. My only criticisms are that I found the structure hard to follow and it was a little repetitive at times.

Haley Mathiot (9 KP) rated Gifts of the Heart in Books
Apr 27, 2018
Gifts of the Heart by Karen Boes Oman
Illustrated by Marilyn Brown
Genre: Children’s Fiction
Rating: 5/5
Gifts from the heart tells a very cute story in verse about a Grandma and a Grandpa who go to their Grandchildren’s house for Christmas. But on the way, a huge storm came and swept all their presents away to Little Bow Peep’s house, where everyone was in need of the things that Grandma and Grandpa had. So Grandma and Grandpa gave the gifts to those who needed it most instead of taking them back. Then when Grandma and Grandpa went to the Grandkids house, they explained to the children what happened with their presents. Little Bow Peep shows up with flying sheep in a sleigh and takes all the Grandchildren for a ride to her town, where they receive gifts from the heart made by the people of the town to thank them for giving up their gifts.
This is a wonderful story about giving to people who are in need, and it shows kids that giving is just as much fun as receiving. This is a wonderful story that should be on every shelf!
Recommendation: Ages 4-8
