There for the grace of God go I

I grew up with a PTSD driven Vietnam Vet for a father, so this book reaonated very deeply with me. The father character was portrayed as very true to life. I know, because except for the domestic abuse, he was my father...the push for survival skills, self reliance and the certainty that our own government was out to get us. Kristin Hannah's brought to life the tragedy of our vets, along with the beauty of America's last frontier. Well worth your time.

Good moments. But missing greatness.
This movie has a good iconic score. It’s in your face but it’s still good. Some of the acting is bad. Mel’s father is god awful. The scenery is great. Some lines are solid. There were smiles from the dialog. But also I was bored in parts. I loved seeing all these famous faces though.

As much as I can't put this series down at the minute, it's more a case of the will they/won't they/please for the love of God do something! variety than about Integrity getting to know her past and learning the truth about what happened with her father. Though, that part is starting to get a lot more important to me.

this movie is so fun to watch! right of the bat it bright colors and good music. I love the story although is kinda forces itself on the watcher. like he mentions his father and BAM! there he is. just kinda not realistic but I mean his dad is a God like entity so maybe he heard him or something crazy idk. but I love how he realizes who his real family is

Lindsay (1717 KP) rated The Heart Of A King: The Loves Of Solomon in Books
Oct 9, 2019
The heart of a king is well written. It seem to be about the life of King Solomon. We see it though the view of the his wives. This is what I got though reading the book. It seem like book that tell the story of the king.
It starts out with him with his father being King of Israel and his son a prince. We see how he becomes King and what he wants. Do his wives get what they want? I believe this is a story about King Solomon and his god. We are brought back to ancient Israel.
We also see him struggle with himself and his god. He seem to questions if he is doing what is right by his god. His he not following God commands or comments?
If you are into reading the bible, but in a simpler way. This book is good for you. This is what it kind gave me as I was reading it. I enjoyed it, do not get me wrong. It seem better then reading the bible it self to get the history or story of King Solomon. Wish is best for me to understand.
I am not into reading the Bible for say but learning about ancient Israel is something different and the lives of King Solomon and his wives. This book did have look up a bit about King Solomon on google. Which is interesting say the least.

Because of this he is stripped of his position and banished to Earth. Found by jane, an astrophysicist, he must earn his powers back, stop his untrustworthy adopted brother Loki (Tom hiddleston) and save 2 Realms from total destruction. Thor is a fun film for everyone.

As someone who is prochoice and not religious, I could have lived without the "God doesn't want you to kill your baby bits". Other than that, the story was pretty riveting. I do wish that Maryanne would have gotten a rape kit done at the hospital. Like many women, she was too afraid and was afraid of having to give her history out to her coworkers (she was a nurse). I was also a little sad that we didn't find out who Emma's father was in the end. I have a sneaking suspicion that it was Barry's child, since he worked so hard to "get rid of the evidence".
Hag 12 Down (6 KP) rated The Library at Mount Char in Books
Dec 30, 2017
Grab the popcorn and settle in.
A missing God.
A library with the secrets to the universe.
A woman too busy to notice her heart slipping away.
Carolyn's not so different from the other people around her. She likes guacamole and cigarettes and steak. She knows how to use a phone. Clothes are a bit tricky, but everyone says nice things about her outfit with the Christmas sweater over the gold bicycle shorts.
After all, she was a normal American herself once.
That was a long time ago, of course. Before her parents died. Before she and the others were taken in by the man they called Father.
In the years since then, Carolyn hasn't had a chance to get out much. Instead, she and her adopted siblings have been raised according to Father's ancient customs. They've studied the books in his Library and learned some of the secrets of his power. And sometimes, they've wondered if their cruel tutor might secretly be God.
Now, Father is missing—perhaps even dead—and the Library that holds his secrets stands unguarded. And with it, control over all of creation.
As Carolyn gathers the tools she needs for the battle to come, fierce competitors for this prize align against her, all of them with powers that far exceed her own.
But Carolyn has accounted for this.
And Carolyn has a plan.
The only trouble is that in the war to make a new God, she's forgotten to protect the things that make her human.
Basically if you have a brain and like to use it, you will love this book. This is an enjoyable, well-paced sci fi thriller.

Apollo is mine ( Gods and Monsters book 1)
By Mila Young
I’m a warrior. Cursed to fight monsters. Sworn to act as Zeus’ sword to protect mankind.
But I’d give it all up for one last kiss with the god who stole my heart…Apollo.
I never wanted to carry my family's legacy. But blood ties cannot be broken, and I’ll keep the promise I made my father on his dying bed. Legendary monsters hunt in city streets of Chicago, and my job was to take down the worst.
I’ve trained with Heracles.
Been blessed with super human powers.
What I’ve never done is fallen in love—until Apollo crossed my path. But he isn’t the only god to catch my attention. Hades is here too, and with him comes a darkness that leaves behind a trail of human bodies. Heracles and my gut instinct urges me to destroy this creature, but each step brings me closer to the truth…
Darkness cannot win…or the Earth will tumble into chaos and I’ll lose the god I’ve come to love…Apollo is mine.
Greek gods? yep! Hot sex? yep! Strong female lead ? Yep!
It was fun and I love a good Greek gods book they are just yum! Interesting story and a very good start to a RH series! Why is always Hades that’s the draw for me? Worth a read if you like RH and a quick book!
