David McK (3219 KP) rated Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2 (2018) in Movies
Sep 17, 2019
Sequel to Wreck-it Ralph, in which Ralph and Venelope travel to the internet in search of a replacement part for a broken wheel in Venelope's Sugar Rush arcade race.
It's not a bad film: animation (as expected) is top notch, and it has the requisite life lesson thrown in for good measure, but for me this just seemed somewhat lacklustre compared to the earlier entry. I did enjoy all the various internet nods throughout, however (some way more obvious that others - Amazon, E-Bay, Google, etc) - and the scene with the Disney Princesses are amongst the contender for the best of the film, but all-in-all ...

I'll admit that the new tattoos kind of turned me off at first. It almost felt like the show was just reaching. Throughout this season the role of that tattoos seemed to grow less important... At one point they were so overrun with tattoo clues that they kind of went "oh well" and seemed to ignore them more or less for a while. However, despite all that, the overall plot was still incredible with twists and turns I was unable to predict. In fact, the major twists at the end of the last episode had me running to Google to see if the show was renewed for a 4th season (it was). Now... I wait.

Great for any and all podcasts
New to the podcast scene and was looking for an allrounder that didn't exclude any podcasts.
Since getting the app I have searched for the conventional and the more obscure and found some that I might not have thought of.
Once I have listened to a few different ones I will certainly review them individually.
As the description above states, you can download the podcasts to your device for offline listening (save your data)
I trust the Google apps so downloaded this app as soon as I saw it existed and was available.
Looking forward to exploring the world of podcasts, thanks for reading.

Bird Clans (1 more)
Hat and Catapult upgrades
Here buy some gems (2 more)
Want to buy some gems
Congrats you did something, here buy some gems
Another Angry Birds, but begs for In App Purchases
This is literally a cash cow for Rovio.
I downloaded this app cause my kids love the films, however I found out over a couple of months that they were buying lots of gem packs, which Google and the designer was unwilling to refund. These were simple 99p purchases to £19.99 packs, having played the game I was offered to buy gems about 10 times in 15 minutes gameplay.
It is a good game but watch out for the milking of real money for gems and feathers

Josh Palmer (2 KP) rated After The Cure in Books

A new twist and an old genre.
So, I got this book on google play for 25 cents I think it was. One of their sales. I didn't know what to expect from a book that was about the aftermath of the zombie outbreak but in the end I was surprised.
The characters are ones that I generally cared about and that made the book that much better. The story moved along nicely while not seeming to sacrifice content.
The worst part about this book is that to me it seemed caught between young adult and normal fiction. Not that it hurt but some points just didn't feel up to the task of being a grown up story.

Very useful app
Shazam is pretty much as synonymous with identifying music as Google is to internet searching. Whenever you hear a piece of music you don't know, you automatically say "I'll shazam it" and it really works. There's only a rare occasion when it hasn't been able to identify a song and that is usually down to low volume or too loud background noise. It's so easy to use as well.
The only negative I can think of is the app itself has become a little too commerialised. I just want to know the name & artist of a song, yet now as well as this you get advertisements, options to purchase, YouTube videos, Twitter, other recommendations. I know this is how things are nowadays but for me it's all a bit too much.

At first sign I knew that I should read this book. The story is so familiar with "Sarah's key'story so I couldn't passed by. It's so easy to read and I didn't even realised when I turned over the half of the book. I had feeling that I know what is going to happen - Marthe is April's grand-grandmother, but I was wrong and this satisfied me, because I hate books with predictable ending. Although this feeling follow me through the hole book I really enjoyed it. This novel brings you to sunny Paris in Belle epoque mixed with XXI century routine. The best thing this book can offer is curiosity. It made me open Google and search for more information about Marthe, Giovanni Boldini, Victor Hugo and other characters from Beautiful epoch's high society.

Heartbreaking.
First of all, this is based on the real life of Georgiana Cavendish, the Dutchess of Devonshire. It needed to be raw, a storyline that is hard to swallow. Thankfully Ralph Fiennes and Keira Knightley are fabulous actors and play the parts so true to the actual people involved.
I don't want to spoil this one as I do think it should be watched, especially as a piece of History. It really makes you appreciate the little things in your relationships. It's honestly so heartbreaking though I cry when the end comes every time (i am a massive softy though admittedly).
All I'll say is, afterwards have a google and see just how accurate this is to the real Dutchess of Devonshire. You'll be shocked.

Weird AF News
This is a brilliant free daily podcast. Basically comedian Jonesy reads out three daily news stories that walk on the weird side and gives his own narrative as if he's in a conversation with you the listener. He's a very clever comedian, it's unscripted and performed in a very natural way and has me laughing out loud every single day because of it. Not only is it interesting hearing strange goings on but you do end up laughing out loud in the middle of the street. Jonsey is not afraid to go anywhere and really pushes the boundaries and is garunteed to cheer you up and deserves a lot more recognition.
