An appreciated recommendation

I was told to watch this by someone one reddit, I didn't really know what I was expecting. At first I thought the acting was slightly poor and felt uneasy from the beginning but couldn't figure out way. As the movie went on things really escalated and by the end of it I was quite honestly blown away with it. I'm still not exactly sure of what happened, I may be over thinking it or missing something important. But it was a brilliant film, not for the faint hearted but not your typical gory, bloody horror.

I probably like this movie more than the people who made it!

"Father's Day" ...
"The Lonesome Death of Jordy Verrill" ...
"Something to Tide You Over" ...
"The Crate" ...
"They're Creeping Up on You" ...

The Crate is definitely my favorite, but all 5 segments are good in their own way. I love the use of color, the changing of color and the way George Romero made the film look and feel like the horror comic it is based on.

The campy feel is part of the fun, but the film still has some gory and chilling moments.

Having never seen a Chucky film before I'm not sure how to take them, this was quite amusing, in a gory overkill kind of a way. I liked the modern technology aspect of the movie despite it giving me haunting memories of my own Google Home trying to scare me, and I think that will particularly appeal to more modern audiences. For the life of me though I don't understand how the Buddi doll made it through focus testing.

Essentially just more of the same but not quite as good. There’s still plenty of fun to be had here though even if the story is a bit on the thin side. Some very funny bits and gory kills as well as a crowd pleasing cameo during the end credits. One of the new characters Madison was incredibly irritating and I was longing for her to get eaten but luckily the addition of Rosario Dawson as Nevada to the cast makes amends for this. All in all worthy of your time for an easy fun watch.
