A simple yet fun tower defense game. You play as Nia who visits her grandparents only to find them gone and the house overrun with cats. The gist of the game is Nia explores the house and builds a pillow fort to defend against the attacks of the cats in order to unravel the mystery of why there are so many cats and where her grandparents are. Overall, it's very cute with charming art and gameplay. It's not very long, about three hours, but it's a lot of fun and the story itself is pretty good.

Roxanne (13 KP) rated The Grandparent's Book in Books

I borrowed this book from the library for my mum and dad to read but i thought I would read it too so we could all talk about it. I was very pleasantly surprised by this book, it is packed full of information for not just grandparents but parents as well. It has sections which answer some probing questions you might have (questions that real people in real situations have asked the author)which I found very helpful. The book covers pretty much everything you would need to know about the child-parent-grandparent relationship, I can't actually think of anything that it might have missed...very thorough. It covers everything from emotions, relationships, financial aid, education, health issues and many other useful topics. I highly recommend this book to all grandparents.

The Chocolate Lady (94 KP) rated Tatiana's Wedding in Books

When Delfina was seven, her father killed her mother. So she grew up with her grandparents. Questions about her mother and the murder haunted Delfina through into adulthood, and her large Polish family could do nothing to answer them. This story about passion and disappointment was lovingly rendered, and evocative. You can read my full review here. https://tcl-bookreviews.com/2014/04/04/on-passion-and-disappointment/

Mothergamer (1549 KP) rated A Christmas Story (1983) in Movies

I remember watching this movie with my grandparents when I was a kid. We all enjoyed it and laughed so much at things like the leg lamp, Ralphie saying the big bomb swear word, and so much more. It's become a tradition in our house to watch it every Christmas season because it's funny and full of heart as well. It's a wonderful classic.

Something different
A decent mix of thriller and Horror as 2 kids pay a visit to grandparents they have never met before. There are a couple of scenes that will give a chill down the back of your neck. The only real downer was the finale was a little weak. With all M. Night Shymalan films though you know a twist is coming.
