Start of an amazing series
This book is a little Beauty and the Beast-esque, which makes me love it all the more.
Especially as Belle is my favourite Disney Princess!

The main character is a strong female who overcomes many challenges, she certainly can't be seen as weak or a damsel in distress.

Highly recommend this YA series to anyone that enjoys fantasy, it is possibly a bit graphic for younger readers though.

I can see why this is such a popular series with kids. The story is pretty imaginative, or, at least, the characters and environments are. The art is also very cute. It's always great when a series is able to pull kids into reading. Hopefully this series will keep the decent quality up. I realize that this book got some low ratings on here, but as it is a graphic novel series meant for junior readers, I think thar it's off to a great beginning.

Classic Action Film
I have finally got round to seeing this and watched the extended version. This is a great film about the relationship between a Hitman and a 12 year old girl left orphaned after her family is killed. It is violent without being too graphic or brutal. This is nothing like your typical action, assassin film and has some great scenes between the two lead characters. A little strange but a classic and I'm not surprised it has reached a cult status.

Really dark Alice in Wonderland retelling
So I may be slightly biased since I love anything Alice and Wonderland related. But this is by far the best retelling of the original Lewis Carol story.

Disturbing and dark this book doesn't pussyfoot around some controversial subjects. However, it is able to steer away from anything crude while still being adult and gory.

This isn't a book for the faint-hearted with some wonderful but graphic descriptions. However, if you like dark and gothic definitely give this a try.

This one is on Netflix. Pretty cool sci-fi flick. The acting was decent enough. Benton Thwaites is Latin protagonists(new to me) and Lawrence Fishburne was the antagonist. Nothing in this movie is too graphic for kids, either, but it might be a confusing story for them. Not a good vs evil type story. It unfolds a bit slowly but has some cool twists and turns. Cinematography was good. I definitely recommend it to sci-fi fans. Worth a watch!

A pretty decent comic book romp in the same graphic style as Sin City. Unfortunately any similarities end there, despite a strong cast this fails to pack a punch. I didn't know anything about the comic book and you have to wait halfway through the film to get any idea of the characters background. I felt it could have been better. Maybe one more for fans of Frank Miller stories or comic books. Silly over the top fun action but nothing special.

This book is very short, maybe 80 pages or so, but it is not an easy read. You need to take your time to really absorb it. It was disjointed at times, but it is a very interesting and enjoyable read, although there are a few pretty graphic part. It follows two story lines, and brings up interesting themes regarding music, control, the relationships between men and women, and on a broader scale, between different countries. It is very poetic and very well written.
