Book Divas (227 KP) rated The First Days (As the World Dies #1) in Books
Mar 17, 2018
Like a zombie devouring flesh, I devoured this horrifying book. As I read this well-written storyline full of blood, trailing intestines and graphic scenes, I found myself thoroughly immersed in the story; I could hear those terrifying moans and screams that came from the zombies, and I could smell the rotten, decaying scent in the air.
This heart-pounding edge of your seat read will keep you in its bloody grip from beginning to end, and I can't wait to get my hands on the next book.

KarenRC (6 KP) rated This Little Piggy (DI Rosalind Kray, #2) in Books
Jul 23, 2018
Told from almost alternate perspectives of Roz and Kevin, this story zooms along with twists and revelations aplenty. Although we know that Kevin is the killer almost from very early on, the full details are held back and we find out as and when Roz does.
Another brilliantly done tale from Rob. The murdery side is as grisly and graphic as ever and Roz is as intuitive and ballsy as before. Can’t wait for no.3!

MoMoBookDiary (20 KP) rated Ozy and Millie in Books
Oct 1, 2018
I enjoyed this comic having never seen any of Dana Simpson's work before.
I have not been reading graphic novels for long but I do enjoy a fun story that has been cleverly coloured and well written artwork. I liked the flow of Ozy and Millie and will be searching out further work by Dana Simpson.
The forward makes reference to this being some of Dana Simpson's early work and that newer comics have improved with time - I liked this and don't see where the improvements could be made.

Rachel Maria Berney (114 KP) rated Rage in Books

Keeps you on the edge of your seat
This is another one of King's great short stories, up there with The Long Walk. A very insightful psychological thriller, that has, at some points in time, been banned from book shelves. It is one of the stories in the Bachman Books, one that is always well remembered, probably because of the effect reading it has on you.
King delves into the mind of a high school shooter, it's violent and graphic, it is not tasteless. As Bachman King did some of his best writing.

David McK (3562 KP) rated The Bone Collector (Lincoln Rhyme, #1) in Books
Jan 28, 2019
I remember when I was at university, I had an English tutor who stated that he though crime fiction was the best kind of fiction there is. At the time I didn't agree with him. I still don't.
Indeed, I think that if he had read this book he would have changed his own tune: this is needlessly graphic, uncomfortable and plodding, with crime scene forensics being the main 'draw' (if I can even use such a word about this) to any potential reader.
In short: one to avoid.

Jessica - Where the Book Ends (15 KP) rated The Wicked + the Divine: The Faust Act: Volume 1 in Books
Jan 30, 2019
This was my first time reading a graphic novel and the plot of this story sounded interesting but I found that I was quickly confused and losing interest. There didn't seem to be much to the story in this first volume and I don't even feel as though the author did a good job of setting up the plot for future volumes. Originally I had given this story a 4 star rating, and I have since dropped it to a 2 star rating the more I thought about it.

Nickg24 (492 KP) rated The Boys - Season 1 in TV

What can I say about this incredible tv show.Based on the comic book series this series does not hold back on the violence and language (dont think I've ever seen the C word used so much in a TV show) and other extreme stuff that you would never associate with superheroes.
I wont give much away because people may still be watching it or havent started it yet but it's one hell of show that everybody needs to see.
