Beautiful artwork (0 more)
I'm a huge Neil Gaiman fan so I'd read the short story 'Snow Glass Apples' previously and enjoyed it. Although I've read most of his graphic novels with some of the recent adaptations of short stories I've not been sure if having a graphic novel version was really adding value. So when I saw there was a new adaptation of this one I had a look through before deciding to buy. All I can say is that the artwork is beautiful, Colleen Doran has done an excellent job bringing this to life, with sensitive handling of the more graphic details. I'd definitely recommend this, it's a lovely addition to any collection.

Quick read

So this was a one-shot book where each page has an illustration and a sentence or a fragment of a sentence that goes with the image.

Spooky graphic novel with some interesting peices that I wish could have had a little more back story to.

Finished in about 20 minutes

Good artwork and an interesting storyline, this graphic novel follow a young girl, Aika, who only speaks Swahili who seeks sanctuary in a church. the exact nature of what she is running from is not clear but the urgency and action lead to an exciting journey with a happy if rushed ending.

So the black death was actually a zombie plague! really?!? This is the kind of title that smaller publish houses can specialise in and as such will find its niche market of graphic novel lovers who will talk long into the night about the minutiae of the plot, unfortunately, that is not me,

I've read the Tamakis' work before. They really know how to create real characters in real settings. Just because it's a graphic novel doesn't mean that it's only meant for kids. Oh, this is so not. I only recommend starting in the upper teens (Like 15, 16 years old) to read this book.

Dark avengers
My kinda graphic novel what if the avengers were team of bad guys mostly former members of the thunderbolts team and led by Norman Osborne himself when he's not the green goblin. It works as a comic and to see Osborne leading his own team is interesting concept

"This is an amazing work of art and history—a three-part graphic novel that dives deep into some of the struggle, strategy, beauty, and brutality that defined our country’s Civil Rights Movement. A vital tool for people, young and old, to learn about the past and be inspired about the future."
