A strange debut horror story for Guillermo del Toro. It has a certain charm to it, bringing a new idea to a vampire tale. Character driven rather than over the top shock and gore. Still it looks rather dated now due to the low budget.

"This is definitely the most interesting take on the vampire genre I’ve ever seen. It’s such a beautiful film and has so many amazing images in it. Definitely my favorite thing Guillermo del Toro has done so far. Nice and disturbing, just the way I like it."

Wow. That's all I really have to say for this magnificent, beautiful, and emotional stop-motion film that tells the story of Pinocchio like I have never seen it before. What a glorious piece of art that may just be my new favorite Guillermo del Toro film.
