A friend posted a trailer for Birdemic, i have now watched this and must advise others to not make my mistake.
The editing is all over the place and the sound mix is horrendous, espically scenes on the beach. The score just starts and stops at random points. Then theres the cgi birds, oh my god they are the worst cg effects i have seen ever.
The story for the first half is a romance as Rod and Natalie meet and become a couple. To be fair Adam Bagh and Whitney Moore are a likeable couple but cant act and are hindered by the slapshot editing.
Then randomly birds attack. For no reason. They claw people, they explode but never blow up a gas station even though they hit two.
Our hero couple meet another couple and bravely fight the birds with coat hangers!
Get to the other couples van and suddenly they have guns!
They resuce some kids. On a road when in the first shot is deserted but in the rest of the shot is very busy.
They have a picnic. Meet a Dr who lectures us on Global Warming. Humoursly there is a bird in the background of this shot.
The rest of the film is forgettable. The director goes for the Hitchcock-esque ending of the birds just stop attacking and fly off.
This film is bad, characters make bizzare decisions, the birds are the worst they just sort of float there.

377. Sweet Virginia. Pretty great random choice by me, again. Twisted tale of a small town murder plot. Three friends are hanging out at a bar playing cards. I'm assuming they own the place, because when a guy wanders in off the street and asks for a bite to eat and a drink, one gets up and tells him they're closed and be on his way. Instead of leaving the stranger asks him, Are you Mitchell? The response is what you expect, who wants to know, blah, blah. Slightly bothered, the stranger leaves. Mitchell goes back to the card game, until the door opens once again and the stranger comes in guns blazing, and all three end up dead. It was here I thought, Mitchell should have locked that door! So that happened, the news quickly spreads through the small town, and we meet Sam, a former rodeo champ now motel owner operator, and he is having an affair with the wife of one of the dead men, yea. And oh yea, the killer, Elwood, is staying at guess who's motel? Also, guess who recognizes Sam from his rodeo days and start a pretty decent friendship. Elwood is actually a semi normal dude when he's not out killing people for money. So who hired him? Well, I can't tell you everything! It really was a well told tense tale. Well acted, Jon Bernthal as Sam, Christopher Abbott as Elwood, were pretty awesome, with Imogen Poots and Rosemarie DeWitt great as the supporting cast! Cool flick, I say, do.

"I have seven older brothers and sisters so there was always a bunch of records around the house. One of my brothers had a record by The Sonics, a Seattle sixties garage rock band, and to a kid who was, like, eight years old, The Sonics really spoke. It was very trashy and you could almost imagine yourself playing those songs - there was a song called 'The Witch' that really spoke to a boy that age and captured his imagination. I was probably about 13 when I heard Raw Power and it reminded me of that, but had something else, it was a bit rattier. I played it over and over again. I haven’t ever been able to write a song as cool as any on Raw Power but I did take that basic ethos; keep it raw and keep it real. Those formative years and the records I listened to then have influenced me to this day. We covered [the song 'Raw Power'] later on ""The Spaghetti Incident?"" [Guns N’ Roses’ 1993 cover album] , and in that era of my life – wow, I guess I’m speaking about my life in eras now – I was probably... well I had a lot of input in that record. I’m not saying I had the most influence, but I probably had more than my share. The UK Subs and the Stooges, I was really happy about some of the selections we made and it was really fun to do something like a Damned song. So we’ll move onto...."
