ARGH!!! What is it with authors lately and cliff-hanger endings?!?! First the Gypsy Brothers series and now this one.

BUT I love Zeth. He's not your typical bad guy; he is the baddest bad guy who's sexy as hell and into some rather kinky stuff.

Yeah, erotica is not my favourite genre ever but sometimes...well I find the perfect blend of erotica and budding romance and that is this series. You can just tell that something amazing is going to happen between Sloane and Zeth.

Can't wait to read the next book in the series.

According to Goodreads, Hidden Gypsy Magic is the third book in the Witch's Journey series and is a connection between the author's Lobster Cove series and this one. This made for some confusion as characters and events were mentioned that I had no prior knowledge of.

Brock and Gwen both have Hidden Gypsy Magic (hence the title) but this story takes you along as they find out just how that affects Brock. Gwen already knows about hers and uses it most days at the Sanctuary. Brock is in for some surprises when he takes Gwen to his family cabin and also when he buys a home in Salem.

This was an interesting story with a good twist regarding the Salem Witch Trials. I loved how the painting featured and changed in the story. This is a fast-paced story with a lot going on - from poachers to heiresses who want our main male - so you need to pay attention to exactly what is going on and when.

Steamy in some places but not so it overtakes the story, this was a read that I enjoyed and can recommend.

The Gypsy Rose and DeeDee Munchhausen by proxy documentaries are numerous, and I found it very interesting that Hulu produced a dramatization of the story. The series started really strong, I devoured the first three episodes one right after another, but then, the waiting game.
This series was probably 3 episodes too long, episodes 6 and 7 felt like straight up filler, and should have been combined. Patricia Arquette was amazing as DeeDee, the thin veneer of kindness over her abusive behavior was really brilliant.

Of course, if you've ever watched a documentary about this, you know how it ends, but it's still an entertaining series (excluding eps 6 and 7).

Only the second (ever) Bond film, this is very much a product of its time (as are the books), complete with the Cold War setting.

Here, Bond is sent to Istanbul to obtain a decoding machine from a Russian defector in what is obviously a honey trap, but there are strings being pulled behind the scenes by SPECTRE - the organisation itself only name-dropped in the previous film - who are out for revenge for the defeat of Dr No in the previous film.

This is the film with the cringe worthy Gypsy encampment fight.

On the other hand, it's also the one with Roas Klebb and her shoes ...

Mystic Maples (Deerbourne Inn Series) by Tena Stetler
Mystic Maples is the first book by Tena Stetler I have read, although it is part of a larger series, Deerbourne Inn, which involves other authors.

In this, Mercy takes a leave of absence from the shop she co-owns with her sister, after a dramatic few months. She ends up at Deerbourne Inn, but due to a mix-up, she is only there for two weeks, rather than the six months she had intended. Along comes Silvanus to save the day.

This was an easy read that didn't really delve too deeply into any of the 'paranormal' elements. We know Mercy is a Earth/Fire witch, but mainly she grows plants. We know Silvanus is a gypsy/fae, but his gypsy side is stronger. There is a magical, time-travelling vardo that takes them back to right a wrong, but once again, this is skimmed over and done with before you can blink.

For myself, this was a lunch-break book - definitely good enough to whisk me away for an hour, but nothing that stays with me after. If you are looking for a light read, I can definitely recommend this one.
