"It’s got romance, it’s got national pride, it’s got good vs. evil, it’s got history — again! It’s just wonderful. Unfortunately it was a sad ending; I wish it (wasn’t). It’s based on history and William Wallace did go down and it’s a tribute to a good life, a changing life, and how education can change your life and travel and things and then he comes back to right the wrongs. Plus I did love the French queen, Sophie Marceau."

[The Physick Book of Deliverance Dane] by [Katherine Howe] was a unique view of the Salem witch panic. Connie is a modern day researcher with an overly obsessive adviser. The summer after she completes her oral her mother asks her to get her grandmothers house ready to sell. She the house has been abandoned for quite some time and has a deep history to share.

This story shows how we never know the true depth of history, especially our own personal history. The mosaic that the intermingling character stories weave is a great driving force for this novel.

My one complaint was it was a bit on the predictable side but for a debut novel it is a must read.

The Hidden Treasure of Buffalo Creek is a wonderful book to read. If you are a historical fiction or historical fan this book may be for you. You learn about history or some events as you go through the adventures with James. It a sweet it tells you about family history and about some of the history of the eras you may not have lived it or want to learn about.

It goes through some of the lives of a few people and how they got here. You learn to grow and follow faith along the way. James is the main one. You go along for an adventure. You may learn about some things that have been going on in the Germany or the USA.

I have tried, over and over and over again, to get through this book. I just can't and I won't try anymore. There are far better books to read than to waste time on one that's not worth the expense it takes to get through it. Technically, the writing is good, but everything is just so boring and lifeless; I don't care about anyone or anything. Maybe if it didn't often read like a history lesson and had some movement, I would have liked this book better. Good historical fiction incorporates the history seamlessly into the narrative. This book didn't and the history actually came in chunks that disrupted the story. This is an author I'll be sure to steer clear of from now on.
