Hazel (2934 KP) rated The Island in Books
Jan 30, 2021
This book is The Famous Five on steroids; although there are six of them and no dog! Full of action, thrills and tension but it also explores many of the issues that young people have to face growing up such as mental health, death, grief and relationships but it does so with ease and with sympathy and understanding.
The characters were really well developed and although not all of them I particularly liked, they all felt right somehow. The setting was perfect and so well described that my hair frizzed due to the humidity! The pace was good and the writing style was easy to read so much so that I raced through quite quickly.
This is a great thriller for people of any age even though it is primarily aimed at young adults and I want to thank HQ (an imprint of HarperCollins Publishers) and NetGalley for my copy in return for an honest, unbiased and unedited review.

Bear-ever yours ( Polar heat book 1)
By Terry Bolryder
Leah Maitland isn't expecting much when she wins an unexpected, all-expenses paid trip to the Caribbean. Just some sunshine, fruity drinks, and maybe a break from her demanding job as an office manager to the worst boss ever. She definitely isn't expecting Sky Weston, a hot, athletic local dive instructor with surfer blond hair and Caribbean blue eyes who seems determined to rock her world.
Sky is tall, intensely handsome and a polar bear shifter whose family moved to warmer climates. From the moment he looks into Leah's sparkling brown eyes from across the room, he knows he wants the curvaceous beauty for his own.
But as things heat up in the Caribbean, danger is also close on their heels. And if Sky can't convince Leah to trust the passion igniting between them, he might just lose her to the evil bear that is willing to do anything to make her his.
Short but a very sweet story! A bit rushed in places but pretty much straight to the point! Starting to see a pattern with Terry Bolryder maybe they are becoming a bit too predictable!
Lee KM Pallatina (951 KP) rated the PlayStation 4 version of Resident Evil 7 biohazard in Video Games

Admittedly that's not a very unnerving name but the family in question may make you rethink your choice In neighbours (you know the peace loving Jones's two doors down).
Completely flipping the idea box upside Down there hasn't really been a great RE: game since RE:4 until now, pitting you against the psychotic members of the baker family (& zoe?...who is so scary, she literally does nothing) & grandma??? (Seriously, she's the creepiest character..who manages to do less than zoe!?)
You play as newcomer Ethan, who has received a message from his fiance who's been missing for 3 years (and who's hair is exactly the same length as it was 3 years ago- that's right I'm calling them out on this one) who goes in search of her, leading him to a rundown mansion in rural Louisiana, USA, eventually things take a sinister turn as you come face to face with the Baker family.
