Mark @ Carstairs Considers (2084 KP) rated Key Lime Pie Murder (Hannah Swensen, #9) in Books

The Tri-County fair is in full swing and Hannah is acting as judge in the baked goods contest. But when her fellow judge is murdered, Hannah begins digging for clues. It's always nice to see these characters again. Hannah did get on my nerves when she wouldn't share clues with the police, however.

More of the same greatness we have come to expect from Kristin Hannah!
The descriptions of homesteading in Alaska are spellbinding!
Mark @ Carstairs Considers (2084 KP) rated Cinnamon Roll Murder (Hannah Swensen, #15) in Books

When the piano player of a jazz band is killed, Hannah springs into action to find his killer. Meanwhile, she's also looking for a way to stop Hannah from marrying Dr. Bev. The characters were great as always, and the mystery was fun. But the Norman/Dr. Bev story was unrealistic. I'm hoping, however, that it is leading to the end of the Hannah/Norman/Mike love triangle.

Hannah has some trouble accepting her past. Devlin also is struggle with his past. He also has to deal with his wife. Hannah as a secret she must tell Devin about. Hannah comes to help when Devin wife becomes ill after giving birth to their daughter.
This book is somewhat a tear emotions for just about what going to happen. Devlin still need to come to terms with his guilt and he need to step up when he told something. For there several surprises in this book I do not want to give them away.

The Perfect Child
By Lucinda Berry
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Christopher and Hannah are a happily married surgeon and nurse with picture-perfect lives. All that’s missing is a child. When Janie, an abandoned six-year-old, turns up at their hospital, Christopher forms an instant connection with her, and he convinces Hannah they should take her home as their own.
But Janie is no ordinary child, and her damaged psyche proves to be more than her new parents were expecting. Janie is fiercely devoted to Christopher, but she acts out in increasingly disturbing ways, directing all her rage at Hannah. Unable to bond with Janie, Hannah is drowning under the pressure, and Christopher refuses to see Janie’s true nature.
Hannah knows that Janie is manipulating Christopher and isolating him from her, despite Hannah’s attempts to bring them all together. But as Janie’s behavior threatens to tear Christopher and Hannah apart, the truth behind Janie’s past may be enough to push them all over the edge.
This was so good and a so upsetting. How many warning signs do you need? The girl and her mother were failed on so many levels by those we are supposed to rely on for help that it caused a ripple affect of damage. Really good read.

It's a typical Saturday morning in the Bernal home. After some early morning love making, Hannah returns to sleep as her husband, John heads off to the farmer's market. Since John is a chef, he does all of the cooking. Hannah is awakened shortly after by the phone ringing. The person on the other end is saying words, but Hannah can not believe the words that she is saying. Her husband is dead. She can still she the indent from his head on the pillow, this can't be true. But it is, and as Hannah comes to grip with this, her life gets turned upside down. Left to raise their three year old daughter, Ellie, which was also John's job since he was home during the day, Hannah is unsure of how to take the next steps. When she looses her job, her house and her mind, it all her friends can do to keep her together.
This was a cute story about a widow who turns into a medium. After the death of her husband,Hannah starts to see dead people showing up around every corner. Because of this, she puts her job in jeopardy. But with her job is also the job of her best friend Jay. They are producers for a reality show, and without this job, Hannah will not make it. Then she finds out that John had not kept up on his life insurance payments, another blow. And the dead people who won't go away.
All in all, this story was good. A bit long, but otherwise I enjoyed it.

BookCritics (259 KP) rated The Twelves Lives of Samuel Hawley in Books

What ultimately made this book a story that will resonate with me was the ambience of the narration. As a fan of Claire Fuller‘s prose and story telling I can heartily recommend Hannah Tinti‘s The Twelve Lives of Samuel Hawley..
