"I know, I know… indie cred is now out the window. But what can I say? Mark and I saw this film at Christmas 1994 in a movie theater, and I laughed so hard I sweat out 5 lbs of water weight and got rock hard abs in the process. We took a camping road trip to the mountains and almost froze to death because of it. I’ve seen it probably 20-plus times and it just makes me so happy every time."

"The most influential rock film ever made (A Hard Day’s Night is probably second). It’s more than thirty years old, but it’s still the default reference for every rock group with a sense of humor (even if none of the band members were alive when it was originally released). It somehow has more cultural sticking power than most of the music it satirizes. There’s never been a real documentary about a real band that captures the nature of heavy rock as deftly as this unreal documentary about a fake band."

Party
Simple but incredibly effective bouncy rock music with a piano or keyboard as the main instrument. Happy and raucous.
The lead single (Party Hard) was a huge hit and rocked like an out of control party BUT the album tracks all sound so similar that they blur into one. It's a shame because it's a hell of a trick making the piano into a rock instrument again.

his album is one of the most refreshing and dignified hard rock records in some time and deserves to be listened to as such. More than just a super-group, Art of Anarchy have given the best of themselves

Concrete and Gold is an apt title. The hard rock is still there but finally there’s a bit of a shimmer and glow, something the band absolutely needed lest they continue treading water. It’s a career-capper as unexpected as it is welcome.

Rolling Stone's 243rd greatest album of all time
Superb hard rock/blues album. Whether or not they were the first heavy metal band is irrelevant, the songs here are fantastic. Includes the self-titled song, the brilliant NIB and my favourite Sabbath song - Warning - as close to a heavy version of The Beach Boys' God Only Knows as we're likely to see.
