Original Horror
A decent original take on a few Horror styles. Mixing GoPro POV, Haunted House in a claustrophobic setting. A big House in the bottom of a lake.
Rather low budget, not the best dialogue but the unique setting makes up for most of the films minor flaws. Not really scary, more atmospheric and claustrophobic. Pretty good for a low budget film.
Short scene after the credits.

Mark @ Carstairs Considers (2387 KP) rated The Haunted Lighthouse (The Code Busters Club, #2) in Books
Mar 9, 2018
Cody and the rest of the Code Busters are excited for the next school day because their classes are going on a combined field trip to Alcatraz. The night before they leave, Cody gets a strange e-mail message. Then the four friends get part of a note on their front door step in the morning. It seems to imply that there might be a treasure on the island. Can they figure out what is going on while on the field trip?
While the title of the book is a little misleading (we discuss some haunted places but never see any), this is a fun book for kids of all ages. The plot moves along quickly, and it included a great twist. The characters are on the thin side, but I’m sure kids won’t notice that. And there is enough information on codes for kids to have lots of fun with them long after they’ve finished reading the book.

The Covenant
By Tom Lewis
⭐️⭐️
Capetown Maine is haunted. Everyone in the quiet seaside community knows it, but only Kenzie Walsh and her friends are willing to do something about it. So, when a mysterious, arcane chalice is found buried in a local cave, Kenzie delves into its origins. What she finds are its ties to a cursed, shadow-haunted city thought to only exist in legend, and its role in a terrifying end-times prophecy. A prophecy the chalice’s unearthing has set in motion; and which Kenzie and her friends may be the only hope of stopping.
I struggled with it if I’m honest it just wasn’t for me. I found it slightly long winded in places and in others that could have been interesting rushed past. A lot of over explanation.
Like I said it’s just not for me I hope that someo finds it for them.

Excellent HP lovecraftean game
Excellent horror board game that really suckers you into the game with great illustrations and exploration of the haunted house. It will pass the time away nicely on a dark evening with your friends.
Its engaging and challenging too so as you play you will be challenging them little grey cells in your head.
If your into board games definitely consider having this in your collection.

Matthew Krueger (10051 KP) rated Insidious (2010) in Movies

Spooky Scary Skeletons
Insidious- was the start of a good horror franchise. Insidious to me is very underrated, it has james wan directing, and a good cast. This was the start of james wan and patrick wilson collbrating.
The plot: Parents (Patrick Wilson, Rose Byrne) take drastic measures when it seems their new home is haunted and their comatose son (Ty Simpkins) is possessed by a malevolent entity.
Insidious- is scary, terfying, and overall a great horror movie.
A must watch horror film.

The Chocolate Lady (94 KP) rated The Phantom's Apprentice in Books
Oct 5, 2020
In Heather Webb’s latest novel, she re-envisions Gaston Leroux’s story from 1910 about Christine Daaé, the soprano haunted by the Paris Opera’s “phantom.” This original dramatic work is now best known from its adaptation as a musical by Andrew Lloyd Webber. Webb, however, has new ideas about who Christine and her phantom were. You can read more about what I thought of this novel in my review of “The Phantom’s Apprentice,”
