This show is excellent. The story about two brothers who are on different sides is interesting because you see how much they care about each other, but the conflicts make things difficult. The settings between Japan and London are beautifully done. The cast is great especially Will Sharpe as Rodney who steals the show with every scene he's in. It's a shame the show only got one season because it is fantastic with the story, music, and characters melding together perfectly. Giri/Haji is definitely worth checking out.

Well acted
This is a film that has been fairly underrated and almost forgotten which I think is a shame, as it's actually a good film driven by some stellar performances.

Aaron Taylor-Johnson excels in this as John and he's what makes this film so good to watch. I always forget that he's actually English until I see him in a film with an English accent, but even still his scouse accent in this is pretty impressive. And the rest of the cast too from Anne-Marie Duff to Kristin Scott-Thomas (there's a load of double barrelled names in this!) all perform admirably in this. The story in this is probably what lets it down. Yes it's interesting to see what happened in John Lennon's early life and how The Beatles first came to be, but there are some aspects with his mum and aunt that get a little too soap opera-esque at times. Personally I wouldve preferred a little more concentration on the music side. And i know the era this film is set in, but I got sick of every scene featuring cigarettes and someone smoking. It was just so noticeable all the time that it became irritating.

Overall this is a pretty decent film about John Lennon's early life made better by some brilliant performances.

"I got into Roachee through the Sith Lord tune with the Prodigy backing and then I started to try and find other stuff but it's hard because he's not really done a lot. He did a bit of time in prison and then came out, so I don't know what his relationship is like with people like Wiley and that, but he seems to be quite an underdog. He's not done anything for a while I don't think. I like the crapness of what he does, when he's like, ""Yeah, I make a pass at your missus, I don't care,"" it doesn't even rhyme. ""I bring animals round your manor,"" all that. It's just not very good some of it, but that's what appeals. Trim is like that too, he trails off a bit, when he's talking about the solar system. It's like, what the fuck is that? That appealed to me as well as the beats. The 'Bad Boy' tune is a classic to be honest, I might be shot down for that. 'Dirty Danger' is on there as well. This album came out in 2012. Grime wasn't really being noticed around that sort of time, it had fallen out of favour. It had come up with Wiley and disappeared really fast."

Dated
Back when this was originally released, I recall it being quite gory and having some pretty impressive special effects. However I'm afraid to say it's now looking very dated.

You can tell without a doubt when this film was made. It's got a cliched and predictable story line with lots of ridiculous and obvious actions from characters that are really rather dull. The most irritating one is by far the most overused in most horror films - oh he's dead but we won't check... 5 minutes later, he's alive & still trying to kill me! Urgh. So cheesy and there is a lot like this in here that really made me cringe. Especially the pretty poor dialogue and misogynistic Kevin Bacon. The effects whilst good at the time now seem a little dodgy and outdated which is a shame but it's made more obvious by the fact that everything is CGI.

Overall it's not a great film and I've seen much better films based on the idea of the invisible man, but it's probably not the worst film you'll ever see.

The plot: When erudite black playwright Andrew Sterling (Samuel L. Jackson) moves to a predominantly white suburb, the buffoonish local police surround his home, assuming he's a burglar. To avoid a scandal, unscrupulous Chief Tolliver (Dabney Coleman) conscripts low-rent criminal Amos Odell (Nicolas Cage) to break in and take Sterling hostage. But Amos and Andrew soon realize Tolliver has no plans to let either survive, so they must put their differences aside and work together to get out alive.

This movie is funny as hell, both Nicolas Cage and Samuel L Jackson are excellent. Also Brad Dourif is funny in this movie.

I dont why this film got bad reviews because it is great. A highly reccordmend movie.

I got so into this book that if I'd started this a little sooner in the evening I could have finished this happily in one sitting. One things kept me from rating it higher; the fact that Jamie didn't appear in that much of the book, really, considering he's the love interest of Rose.

I wanted--needed--more Jamie and Rose!

I also felt for Rose a lot, she had a lot to deal with and she had a crappy best friend for most of the book. Add in an attraction to the bad boy with a girlfriend and you're in for turbulent times.

I most definitely need to read the second one but it isn't available on Scribd yet :(

"That album is my favourite because it's the one that feels most concise. Electric Ladyland I love, but it does sprawl a little bit and some of the later ones don't feel like he's absolutely at his peak. The early ones - Are You Experienced? - I do love them but it feels like there's lots of singles. So for me, Axis: Bold As Love has that depth. The production is just fantastic as well. 'If 6 Was 9', embodies that whole wild, epic, Jimi Hendrix thing, in a concise pop song. Him saying about the businessmen going down the street, ""you can't dress like me"", and ""I'm gonna wave my freak flag"". For a long time, my favourite Jimi Hendrix stuff was the live stuff - he's one of those guys where you can be a fan of the the live stuff and it's almost a completely different artist to the albums. Whereas this one feels like it's got that spirit of Jimi Hendrix live in the song as well. He manages to get this epic adventure into three and a half, four minutes. To me it just embodies Hendrix: rebellious but friendly, and totally in control of the universe. He's like a shamanistic character isn't he? 'Up From The Skies' is really amusing, really cool. 'Spanish Castle Magic' is just a rocker. But it's got this real sparkle to the whole thing. I think these albums, the reason why they've lasted, is because you can listen to them at any time. You can have them for breakfast, lunch or dinner. You can listen to Axis: Bold As Love on an epic road trip or having a coffee in the morning."

I loved the first two books in this series and was happily looking forward to this one. I've had smoking hot, sexy scenes, and I've had laugh-out-loud moments as the main females stand up to their mates, but in this book, I've had a lump in my throat and tears in my eyes as well.

Vail is a perfectly flawed character and you can see exactly what he's fighting against. Rosalind has her own demons to fight (pardon the pun!) the not least of which is that she is being held against her will and thinks that she has just met the man foretold to appear before her death. So she is a Witch which immediately makes Vail's blood boil and his appearance foretells her death, which she is keen to avoid. How on earth, or in Hell, are these two supposed to get together?

By telling a story with intrigue, depth, and layer upon layer of emotion - that's how. I started this book and thought that I'd just read a bit before bed, just to get it started. After a few hours, I put the book down, fully finished and bleary-eyed. I devoured this book and to be honest, I still need more. Vail has managed to get under my skin and I need to know that he's okay, that he's got and is keeping his H-E-A with Rosalind.

LOVED THIS BOOK!!! Highly, highly, highly recommended.

He's back!
I was a big fan of the original series of Dexter having only got round to watching them in the last 2 years. Definitely a show you can binge. I was a little worried this new series 8 years later was going to leave a lot of unanswered questions from the end of the last series.
Thankfully the writing and plot are just as good as ever. All the questions you'll have from the last episode are explained in this series.
Set 10 years after he disappeared Dexter has a new identity in a small town, but will his dark passenger awaken again? Will his past catch up with him? Definitely one fans will enjoy.

Enjoyably fun
Let's be honest, The Losers is never going to win any awards. However if you're looking for something entertaining and fun to pass 90 minutes, you can't really go wrong with this.

It's got a great cast, who doesn't love Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Idris Elba and Chris Evans? The rest of the cast too are very good and well rounded, and Jason Patric is an absolute riot as the over the top villain. Seriously he's hilarious. The plot is straight forward and the CGI is a little sketchy at times, but it's difficult to care as this film is just so much fun. Considering this is an action film, I laughed more at this than I've done in some outright comedies. If you're looking for something that's bags of fun and doesnt take itself too seriously, this is the film for you.
