I read books 1 and 2 with an air of "hmmm, it's okay, but not really doing much for me.." I read it because Daemon amused me. Then I got to book 3.

At first, I felt pretty much the same.. it's an okay read, but nothing major.

Then I hit the final chapter

What the ever-loving fuck just happened?

For a heart-sinking moment I thought it was the last book of a trilogy... then I realised book 4 was waiting in the wings... holy mother of god... this series just got good.

For years I was smart. I recommend pleasant. (0 more)
For my all time favorite silver screen movie, Harvey is a mix of beautiful comedy mixed with a good helping of heart. The story follows the lovable Elwood P. Dowd and his best friend, Harvey who never makes a physical appearance on screen but is never-the-less always felt. Stewart puts forth a beautiful and lighthearted (but somehow still touching) performance, the the surrounding cast never disappoints as they move through the film adaptation of this Pulitzer Prize-winning play.

John Lydon recommended Nevermind by Nirvana in Music (curated)

Nevermind by Nirvana
Nevermind by Nirvana
1991 | Alternative, Rock

"I remember being very angry at their album title being Nevermind. I thought Nevermind? Have you lost your bollocks or something? I was drawing a line on it all, perhaps too sharply, but I have to say “Smells Like Teen Spirit” is one of pop music’s all-time greatest. That song is firmly embedded in my psyche. So, I forgive them. Most bands can’t come up with one complete song, and sometimes one is enough. By “Heart-Shaped Box,” it was all starting to sound a bit suicidal. I felt it coming."

Wow! The raw emotions that are written in this book is incredible. I felt Jena's pain through the pages. I didn’t grow up with a dad but her lose made me feel what I had missed. The betrayal she felt was unbelievably sad. How any one can just leave a child no matter their age is incomprehensible to me. Luke was amazing he was strong and caring. The pain he hides behind those blue eyes is just heart breaking. To blame yourself for every wrong step.
These two met each other at the right moment. To find your pain in someone else’s eyes and want to protect them. I was with the author at every word and every moment. There wasn’t a time when I didn’t feel something. Bravo! This is the second book I have read and it has made me cry.
Finding your way in a sea of ever changing emotions is so hard. To live everyday knowing you can’t bring them back or that you couldn’t save them. I felt their pain and then their happiness.
THIS IS A MUST READ!!!!

I really, really want to give this 4 stars. However, my ratings don't just include how much I enjoyed the story, they also include how I feel about punctuation, misspelled words, and grammar. Honestly, that is the only thing keeping me from giving You Loved Me At My Darkest 4 stars. There were several misspelled words (and I am aware that some of these words are not spelled the American way - I do not considered these words misspelled), some places where words were missing, and a good amount of incorrect punctuation. However! I really, really enjoyed reading this book. Despite it being hard to keep up with perspective (mostly in the beginning), I was easily captivated and it wouldn't let go! The story was heartbreaking, but filled with so much fight and spirit. I didn't want to put it down. My heart beat in sync with Lily's. I felt her pain, I felt her fear, I felt her love. I was more reserved in allowing myself to completely trust Jake, more so than Lily was, but it was easy to see that there was something bigger going on. I definitely do not regret finding Evie's book!

Keep the kleenex to hand...
I felt as though my heart had been ripped out of my chest and stamped on repeatedly! This book deserves all of the praise it gets. It's heartbreaking, gentle, tender and so sad (yes, I cried on a couple of occasions, and usually I do try not to do that). The Tin Man is the main character, Ellis. A man who lives on his own, works at a car factory and is a widower. This is a look back into his past and his lost loves. AIDS makes an appearance. Such a tragic story.

Oh my word! I absolutely adored Carrie Fancett Pagels' work. She is fantabulous with creating her characters in a richly detailed way. The beautiful detail she added to the backdrop of the story really made me feel as though I was on the breathtaking Mackinac Island.

Maude and Ben, and even Jack, quickly stole my heart. Sweet little Jack had me smiling more than once! The betrayal that Maude feels when she sees her "intended" married to another woman, was quickly felt in my heart. But, when she "runs" into Ben, the sparks were there and I loved watching their story unfold.

Ms. Pagels fills this novel with wonderful descriptions to make the story blossom before the reader. The messages from God of forgiveness, hope, faith and love are woven perfectly throughout. This wonderfully chiseled,4 star book kept me turning the pages long into the night and I highly recommend it to all historical fiction lovers! The characters, the plot line, the messages will all steal your heart and take you on a whirl wind right through Mackinac Island, leaving you wanting more. Visiting Mackinac Island is now at the top of my bucket list thanks to Ms. Pagels!<a href="http://cafinatedreads.com/review-my-heart-belongs-on-mackinac-islandmaudes-mooring-by-carrie-fancett-pagels/"; target="_blank">This review was originally posted on Cafinated Reads

After first reading Tortured, I was then taken in by The Master and the Muse. I was immediately interested in The Master and the Muse because it was a historical novel about an artist back when painting was still profitable career (for some). It goes through three different women he uses for models and his relationship with them. While Tortured was more about the plot line than the erotica, there was no want for erotic scenes in this book. McIntyre threw me for a loop with how detailed they were, too. Here, I wasn't expecting any heat and instead, I received full on fire.

Once more, I found myself ensnared by McIntyre's expert story telling. The world and characters she created were so vivid and realistic that I found myself falling in love with the novel. With each new muse, I found myself caught up in their stories, their lives, and their emotions. I felt my heart breaking with theirs and smiling with each success. My heart was always with Grace, who I felt for the most. I would have felt more sympathetic for Helen if she wasn't so pathetic, and I couldn't even begin to like Sara who just a brat. I would feel sorry for Edward, but he was so in love with Sara, he couldn't see what a snot she was.

But Grace. How could Thomas see how perfect she was? I literally wanted to punch him for being such a chauvinistic snob that he was. In all honestly, he didn’t deserve her love for how he abandoned her the way he did. And yet, I wanted them to succeed so much that I felt his love for her was apology enough. This novel brought out the romantic in me despite how dark and depressing it really was. Every happily ever after was worth the suffering of getting there.

Definitely a must read in my opinion.

Vernon has just moved to a quiet new little town, the type of town where different really stands out like a christmas tree in the desert! Vernon is used to standing out but not this much and its making him feel very uncomfortable especially with the skin hes in.

oh my this is one of the most gorgeous stories ive read! my heart well and truely went out to Vernon/Violet and the internal struggles their dealing with. with the self harming section i felt like somebody had stepped into my head and put my fellings on paper, when i was alot younger i used to cut because i felt like it released what i couldnt say. I felt every raw emotion going, the doubt the fear the hope the love and the warmth from finally being able to find her true being.
Its nice to be able to have a bit of an understanding of the internal struggle a transgender can go through and how much pain they can deal with and the importance of having a good support network.
i wish there were more understanding and willingness to learn in this world

An absolutly gorgeous story, heartbreaking and heartwarming all at the same time 4/5
