Great Fitness Tracking app
This app provides the data for the Leaf fitness tracker by Bellabeat. It is the only way of having access to the data the tracker monitors throughout the day. The interface is easy to use and very clear to understand. You can customize your goals and alarms and track your progress towards them. Some things (steps takes and hours slept) are automatically recorded when you pair your leaf, but other things (meditation, water, and monthly cycle) need to be manually entered.

I love this app. Other fitness trackers have a display on them, however the Leaf does not. I wasn't necessarily bothered by this because it allows the piece to serve a dual purpose by also being able to be a piece of jewelry to be warn any time. The Leaf also can vibrate to indicate a certain amount of inactivity. If you want to be more active, you can set it to remind you to move around after so many hours of inactivity. I think this is an awesome feature- especially when I'm lost in a binge watching session of Scandal on Netflix!

You can also set alarms through the app so the Leaf vibrates which is a helpful feature if you need help remembering to take medication at a certain time or to drink more water throughout the day.

I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an unbiased opinion.

And two days after I received it (before I could even begin reading it), our "CEO", my service animal, and our "fur child", passed away. So I went into reading and reviewing this book raw, and somewhat unable to keep my opinion unbiased.

DOGTOLOGY is a humorous look at the growing dog worship in our culture. It's factual, even if it breaks the news to the dog-obsessed gently that they are, in fact, dog-obsessed. It gives helpful reminders of things like the difference between what we think dogs need versus what they actually need from us. It also helps remind those who are practicing Dogtologists in regards to relationships with those outside their practice.

I'm so grateful I had this book to turn to as we grieved in our household. There were parts I could share with my partner for us to laugh over. Parts that made me cry tears I wasn't sure I was able to cry yet. It made it clear to both of us, though we hadn't really had doubts before, that we are, and have been, Dogtologists even when we have not been "dog owners" during our relationship, and that will always be the case for us. And when we are ready, emotionally, it will be time for us to find a new CEO for our household.

Engineered! by Shannon Hunt is a great children’s non-fiction book. The book is clear, informative, nicely illustrated, detailed, and logically structured. From the Mars Rover to 3D printing to helping a herd of caribou and more, Engineered! dives into nine stories of modern engineering. Kids will learn about the engineering design process from defining the problem to sharing your solution with the world.
Each story highlights the key components of the design process, taking kids on the journey through different types of engineering (aerospace, biomedical, chemical, mechanical, electrical, civil, geomatics, computer, and environmental) from seeing a problem to creating effective solutions to implementing their ideas. Coupled with great illustrations, Engineered! is sure to be a favorite of any budding engineer!

There is a lot of information crammed onto each page (some pages easier to read than others, due to text size, background colour, and minimal spacing between lines of text). However, this is also works to an advantage, as there's a lot to take in on each page, with full pages of busy geometric-style illustrations. Each time you look at the images you'll be sure to find something different!

There is a helpful glossary at the end, which is useful to look back on if necessary, as there certainly is a lot of information to take in.

I received this ARC from Kids Can Press via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
