ArecRain (8 KP) rated A Gentleman's Position (Society of Gentlemen, #3) in Books
Jan 18, 2018
I received a complimentary copy in exchange for an honest review.
I dont know what it is about this series that just gets me. This is the third novel I have read in the series and it just keeps getting better and better.
Historical erotica is something I can fully get behind. But a queer historical erotica?! Those dont exist! Well let me inform you that they, in fact, do, and they are amazing. Society of Gentleman by K.J. Charles is not just one of the best historical erotic series I have read, it is also one of the best series period! So far, this one has been my favorite. There is something about forbidden love that just makes it that much more delicious. A lord and his servant? Scandalous! And toe-curling
Again Charles brings her phenomenal character creating to the table and expertly weaves a story that lures you into its web and keeps you there till the very end. I love Charles writing and creativity.
There is really nothing else I feel I can say about this novel without giving it away. Are you looking for a fantastic historical romance featuring two men? Look no further! Seriously dont pass this series up.
Plus look at how beautiful that cover is...

Shaun Collins (3 KP) rated Doctor Who: The Transit of Venus in Books
Jan 12, 2018
A quite surprising "pure historical" and one of those adventures that unfolds over the course of six months or so, features Ian still wonderfully played by William Russell. It's a story that challenges and excites... and wasn't at all what I thought. For more, visit www.travelingthevortex.com

B (15 KP) rated Hidden Figures (2016) in Movies
Jan 24, 2018
The story of the women behind John Glenn's trip into space is something of beauty and feeling. A great story of historical value. A movie filled with the lives of great women and their work at NASA. This movie is for everyone and I would recommend it.

The historical fiction series flashes back for the first of a trilogy about the birth of Yeshua. Powerful even if you already know the ending.

Deborah (162 KP) rated Having the Decorators in (Dame Constance de Clair, #2) in Books
Dec 21, 2018
Brilliant stuff! I absolutely loved this book, and also Having the Builders In, which comes before this. It's only sad that there aren't any more in the series. It's a nice, light read and made me smile while retaining a good sense of historical period and accuracy.

Cori June (3033 KP) rated Island of the Blue Dolphins in Books
Jul 2, 2019 (Updated May 24, 2020)
Good read for all ages. Read the first time as a child and reread recently and still enjoyed it. There isn't much dialogue but the descriptions are great. A good survival story that is slightly (probably barely) based on historical fact. Interesting and held up well.
