Considering Erickson's historical credientials, I was really disappointed in this one; far too much of the Fiction and not enough of the Historical for my taste.

Great read
This is Elin Hilderbrand's first historical fiction and she nailed it. I didn't do any research, but from her author's note (which is also a must read!), it sounds like she did. I loved how the events in the novel were interwove with events that really happened. I'm used to reading historical fiction set over 100 years ago, so I wasn't sure what to expect, but I loved this!

Very good plot, a good historical fiction. (0 more)
Well written with a marriage of history and art.
I was not sure about this book when i picked it up, i love historical fiction but was not 100% sure by the blurb. I was pleased i persevered because i enjoyed the book very much. The characters really came alive and the culture and art you could see so vividly. Would recommend to anyone who likes a historical fiction love story.

Enjoyable historical fiction - reminded me of Jean Plaidy! Written to go with the ITV series (which I haven't seen....!)

"Another historical fiction novel. Set in the American west and the impossible to imagine violence and betrayal that occurred."

Is there any chance of getting a couple of genres added to the Book list? I've had a few in the Historical Fiction genre, as well as Military Fiction, come through recently.

Lovely story but its just that, a fantasy of historical fiction. As long as you know that you shouldn't be upset .

Currently reading Margaret of Anjou by Conn Iggulden. Brilliant book and true to the reality. I'm a mad historical fiction fan.
