Utterly gripping, one of my favourite books this year. Set in a Swedish (I think!) hockey town. Everything revolves around ice hockey. Until a scandal rocks the very foundations of the town. It sets the truth against misplaced loyalties. Which is more important: the Team, or the truth?
I noticed that this was called Beartown in the US. I think I possibly prefer that as a title, however, I believe that The Scandal is closer to the original translated title.

A slice of romantic heaven. (Cheesy line necessary). This book is nothing like I expected, combining hockey, pizza and an old enemies to lovers type of romance. For me the most intriguing part was the tension between the main character and her parents. The idea of following in their footsteps just because it's a family tradition was relatable. It helps those trying to make their own way feel like it is possible.
A great read for those who love romance, hockey, and finding yourself through unexpected means.

Fredrik Backman's latest novel takes place in the small Swedish town of Beartown, which is slowly dying, practically having nothing left but their love of hockey. Their only hope is with their junior hockey team; if they win the finals this year, they're sure things will change for them. However, sometimes change comes in unexpected ways, and Beartown is about to experience that first hand. Find out what I thought of Backman's latest work in my review here.

Funny, fluffy, sexy, hot. I loved reading this and can't wait to read the rest of the series. I laughed out loud, cried a little and well.... It was a good non intense fluff book. Sexy Romance set around the hockey world. Super MC and Beave forever!

Hockey and Affairs of the Heart
Ice Hockey (check) Romance (check)

This book made me chuckle aloud. It had heart warming, sometimes eye rolling moments and love.

As Elise's brothers best friend, and team mate, Elise is very much off limits to Justin, but their mutual attraction and long harboured crushes might just be worth the risk. A drunken night leads to a secret relationship with the potential to change everything.

This light hearted, steamy read is an instant page turner. The characters are likeable, the dialogue is far from cheesy and the hot moments are HOT!

As a sports romance lover, I would recommend to anyone with similar reading tastes.

NO PUCKS LOST BETWEEN US is the last in the Rosie & joel trilogy in the Rush Hockey series.

Rosie and Joel have had a rocky path to walk, with plenty of bumps and turns in the road. And so much - so much - is by them not talking. Not all of it, no, but enough. Joel is having a hockey crisis, and Rosie is trying to clear her name and figure out just what she wants to do with her life.

This was a great conclusion to their story, whilst still leaving parts of it wide open to be answered in the next trilogy (I presume.) Hot and steamy throughout, it's a brilliant addition to the Rush Hockey series.

For me, though, I think this is the end of the line for this series. It's just not holding my attention the way the rest of Elise Faber's books do.

This book was a really quick read. As a lifelong hockey fan I was fascinated by the story. As a New York Ranger's fan I was appalled I hadn't heard of this before.

[King Kwong: Larry Kwong, the China Clipper Who Broke the NHL Colour Barrier] by [Paula Johanson] is a short well written account of the struggle to make it into the NHL if you weren't of European decent. Larry Kwong was a very skilled player but only got to play one shift in the NHL. This did not dampen his love for hockey as he traveled the world spreading this awesome sport wherever he went. I wish I had this in a paper copy so I could give it to my students to read.

The second in the Pucked series follows Miller (Buck) Butterson attempting and failing to win over his ice hockey team Captain’s (and future brother in law Alex) sister Sunny Waters. Buck and Sunny would be great together if only things and people would stop interfering!
Buck means well, but he certainly isn’t the smartest, and Sunny is young and sheltered, and everyone around her is over protective. But when the world finally gets a glimpse of the real Buck things start to change for the better!
This isn’t as funny as the first book, but still great writing! The character development is great too!
Follows on great from the first book but can also be read as a stand alone.
