Good idea, bad execution
I remember watching this when it first came out at the cinema and thinking it was actually not too bad, and very gruesome and horrific. Watching it again recently, it doesn't actually come across that well. It's a very good idea, but I think the whole plot is spoilt by the boys holiday theme which is overdone. And some of the acting is terrible, which really loses the sense of terror and suspense. The gore too is underwhelming, after having seen the Saw films etc, Hostel comes across as far too tame.

Caillou Plays Hockey

Another contribution from this bright, familiar series. this book can quickly become a favourite and whilst this one is particular to the holiday season, Caillou has several different adventures for your child to pick up.
With this instalment we find Caillou getting all kitted up for his first training sessions in Ice-hockey, but as is often the case, he wants to run before he can walk and only with his fathers help can he see that practice is needed to progress. A lovely moral, a great message for our youngest and bright colourful presentation as well, what's not to love.

Amazing movie
Kurt Russell was born to play Wyatt Earp. It is without a doubt his best role. All Earp wants to do is settle down to the simple life but it doesn't work out that way.
Val Kilmer makes a fantastic Doc Holiday. He lost so much weight to play the character but it's one of his best roles.
It also stars one of my favourite actors, Sam Elliott. You cannot have a western movie without him.
It ticks all the boxes.

Disappointing.

I read this on holiday, was intrigued by the plot and was expecting it to be tense, erotic, shocking and thrilling, yet I found none of it. After finishing the book, I put it down and it was a 'is that it?' moment, I couldn't quite believe I'd read the whole thing, it hadn't seemed go anywhere exciting.

The book itself is well written and the characters are interesting, and individually make for a good story, but merge them all into one and you get nothing too exciting.

The book's been done before, that's all I can say.

To be honest, I didn't think I'd enjoy this book. It was given to me as a gift, so I thought I'll give it a go, and if I get bored with it, I'll just read something else.

However, I am very glad I read it. It is such a sweet story, and the plot is so good! Some of it is predictable, but it's still a good read.

I loved little Daisy. She is so cute!!!

Oh, and there were a few twists I wasn't expecting. Definitely worth a read although probably more of a holiday read if anything.

I couldn’t put this book down. From the first page I was captivated. Bought it to take on holiday and had finished it by the morning of the second day. Everything about this book was interesting and entertaining.
It kept you guessing about who some characters were in terms of their Norse gods but that was just part of the fun of it. Brilliant twist at the end that I didn’t see coming until just before.
Shadow’s character kept you wanting more for him, and kept you hoping things would work out in his favour. Can’t wait to pick up the sequel!

I bought this book while on holiday in Queensland because I had finished my other one, I am a huge YA fan, and it was relatively inexpensive. I am so glad that I did. I pretty much devoured the novel over the course of one day because I was so hooked. Besides being minorly predictable to those of us who have read their fair share of YA fiction, Holland did an excellent job of blending just the right amount of romance and adventure to keep me wanting to read more. I can't wait to read the next book.
