Lindsay (1735 KP) rated The Berenstain Bears Thanksgiving Blessing in Books
Nov 17, 2021
This book teaches Mama and Papa as they ride through the woods to their grans and gramps place for Thanksgiving dinner. They teach about how the native Bears and pilgrims shared and started the whole Thanksgiving feast and what it means to be thankful for all the blessings you have.
The blessing is quite a few things we have somewhat forgotten we came to have. Some of the blessings are Family and Friends, Faith, and religion. A few others. The cubs do mention a song that is a favorite of mine. The song is “Over the river and Through the woods.”
What will your child or children learn about the history of holidays and celebrations? This book teaches a bit about it. What is your child or children learning to be Thankful for during the season? Are we teaching that children should be thankful for the blessing that they have? The many blessings we have in life have continued told in this book.

Lindsay (1735 KP) rated A Celebration of Winter (Mariana Books Rhyming #4) in Books
Jan 11, 2022
What fun activities can your child or children do during the Winter? What can they do for fun in the cold or snow? You will enjoy the family get-together. Children can enjoy decorating for a unique visitor during this holiday season. They will also probably enjoy getting the house decorated for Christmas.
This book also talks about Winter. The way it is the last season of the holiday before it starts all over again. Children will learn that each season is three months long. December starts the winter season and ends in February. Children will discover that there are four seasons in a year. The images created did well.
They capture the season and the meaning of this book. What are some of your child or children's favorite winter activities or traditions during the winter months? What things will you and your child or children do during the winter season?

Kaysee Hood (83 KP) rated Nintendo Selects: Animal Crossing: New Leaf in Video Games

As mayor you're goal is to befriend your villagers through different tasks (finding lost items, fetching fruit, etc) until you obtain their picture. There is also the goal to build up the town with different Public Work Projects (benches, lighthouse, etc) to attract certain types of villagers (lazy, jock, snooty, normal, and more). Also you have to ensure the town is beautiful by planting trees and flower, and weeding.
Don't forget to build up your home! Besides appealing those who live in your town, you're able to expand your home and decorate it with different types of furniture. There are different sets you can collect (alpine, royal, princess are a few). Your home even gets rated by the Happy Homes Association where you're awarded trophies or other prizes the higher your rank goes up.
Don't worry you can always visit the island if you need a break from being mayor to go on different tours. There are also tournaments in town where you can show off your different skills. Villagers might play hide-and-seek with you. Holidays are cause for more events.
There's so much to do!

Goddess in the Stacks (553 KP) rated P.S. I Still Love You (To All the Boys I've Loved Before, #2) in Books
Dec 27, 2018
I didn't like this one as much as the first - the sisters are still here, but Lara Jean doesn't spend as much time worrying over her dynamic with her sisters as she did in the first book. This second book is all about Peter, his ex, and what's going on at school. That's fine - obviously the story needs to evolve and move, but the sisters were such a huge part of the charm of the first book that I really miss them in this one.
A second boy is introduced in this book - John - and to be honest, I like him more than Peter. I know Peter and Lara Jean are really set up as THE couple in this series, but - John's so nice. And Peter's so oblivious.
There's one more book - Always and Forever, Lara Jean - and while I'm sure it won't happen, I'm holding out hope that John will come back in book #3 and win Lara Jean over. I really, really liked him.
