No spoilers. Just a quick review this time round. I really enjoyed this film, it works well with the tone of MCU post Endgame.

The cinematography is amazing and very well do. Worth paying extra to watch in IMAX. All the actors perform their characters outstanding and Jake Gyllnhall is amazing as Mysterio. Showing again another Interesting marvel character in a newer MCU light.

There are plenty of laughs as there have always been with spidey on the big screen. There is just something about Holland that makes him the perfect Spider-man, cheeky and awkward, noble and cocky. Just enough broodiness to be relatable. Unlike certain other animal theme super heroes (not Ant-Man).

Marvel however like DC do love a good old nod to the past and fans of the Raimi Trilogy will get a kick of the mid credits scene.

All I can say is bring on phase 4, on and marvel/ Disney give us the pairing we all want. Holland and Reynolds

**BOOK SYNOPSIS**
For twenty-four years the Dutch colony of Pernambuco in northeastern Brazil was a safe haven for Jews who had escaped the Inquisition in Europe. Recife, its capital, was known as “Colonial Jerusalem,” and it was from this religiously tolerant town that Asser Levy tells his story. When the Portuguese recaptured the territory in 1654, they brought the Inquisition and its torments with them, forcing Asser and his family and friends to flee to Holland. About fifteen ships arrive safely in Holland; Asser’s ship does not.

Through imagined diary entries based on real events, Asser tells the harrowing story of the Jewish refugees who arrived on the island of Manhattan and of some of the first court battles fought to allow religious freedom in America.

A definite 5 star read for me and one of my books of 2023 so far ... an absolute cracker!!

I read a lot of crime and psychological thrillers and the odd horror book and it takes a lot to get me going but Sam Holland most definitely got me going with The Twenty. Oh my word!! Why? I hear you ask.

Excellent and interesting characters ... check.
Excellent serial killer ... check.
Gripping story line ... check.
Fast pace ... check.
Twists and turns ... check.
Gruesome scenes that give you the chills ... check.
Tension and suspense in spades ... check.

What more is there to be said? Oh yes, this might be book 2 but don't let that put you off, it can easily be read as a standalone but I would strongly suggest you read book 1, The Echo Man, it's also a cracker!!

Highly recommended to those of you who enjoy a dark, gritty and grisly crime thriller ... you won't go far wrong with Sam Holland and I must thank HarperCollins UK, HarperFiction and NetGalley for enabling me to read and share my thoughts of the brilliant The Twenty.

I can't wait to see what comes next.

Yet another unnecessary Spider-Man movie. The entire point of this movie was to set up for Infinity War. The movie was entertaining, and Tom Holland was a good Spidey. Ned was one of the best parts as well. Batman, I mean, Michael Keaton, was a fairly solid villain. I felt like the casting of Zendaya was unnecessary, and wait, plot twist, she's MJ.
I could live my entire life without having to see Tony Stark in another damn movie, but alas, he's at least in Infinity War.

It's really tiresome at this point. It was really bad with Spidey because he vanquished the villain and there were still 25 minutes of the movie left, solely for set-up purposes. At least in Thor it wasn't so blatant.

I totally said the same thing to my wife after I finished the film. Too funny. Never really feels like the story is complete.

I have just finished a book called Everless by Sara Holland. It is the usual epic tale of a young woman who is orphaned and finds out she has a hidden destiny. There are of course 2 brothers the one she secretly loves and one who is gruff and hateful, guess who she will ultimately fall for. Saying all that, there are lots to enjoy too. There are some interesting twists and concepts, enough to keep you reading. Currently there is no second book available but I will look out for it.
