Nolan is a master of dark plots and cinematography
This is a psychological mind-bend of a film bringing together dreamlike sequences as well as action shots. Director Christopher Nolan gives you bits and pieces of information, and as the movie plays out the viewer begins to put the pieces together and the picture gradually becomes clearer. It's intelligent and engrossing, not your average Hollywood blockbuster.

Charming and wonderful
I love seeing older actors and actresses in leading roles, these days Hollywood has age washed EVERYTHING. It's refreshing to see the leads are 70+, their daughters are 40+ and it's charming to see how life changes for all the characters. Both me and my husband enjoy watching together, well worth checking out!

Well done!
Good acting, cool cinematography and a fun, entertaining story! The description almost gives away the story. However, it turns out much more intense and action packed than you'd think. The characters were great and the story unfolded beautifully. I'm kind of glad they didn't go the typical "leave-it-open-for-a-sequel" Hollywood ending. If you're into war movies (and/or "monster" movies)you'll enjoy this film. Really worth a watch!

A decent action film set at the end of the Iraq war. Three soldiers learn the location of some stolen Kuwaiti gold and plan to help themselves. On their mission they encounter the harsh reality of the current state of the country.
It has a fine cast and is well made, without feeling like a hollywood blockbuster. It has the right mix of action and drama, even a bit of humour too.

Polly Pepper has gotten a job on the next great reality show as a judge. But when another judge is murdered, Polly suddenly finds herself with a whole lot of suspects. The characters and plot are delightfully over the top in an "only in Hollywood" way. Wacky but lots of fun.

Kirk Bage (1775 KP) rated Angels with Dirty Faces (1938) in Movies

Cagney was gangster movies in the early days of Hollywood. No one did it better, though many tried. Bogart is in this one too, so what more could you want? Iconic in every sense, with a final scene often paid homage to. Some prefer The Roaring Twenties or The Public Enemy, but the direct showdown of corruption vs the priesthood, plus some incredible black and white photography, make this golden oldie the one for me.
