While Hannah tries to deal with the double marriage proposals from Mike and Norman, a Hollywood production company comes to town. However, the director is a jerk, and he is murdered by a rigged prop gun. This is another fun book, although it was slow getting started.

You've got to try the title recipe. It's wonderful!

Landmark film
A landmark film for Hollywood that has a great significance for the industry.
To the film and I did worry it might not quite live up to the hype. Thankfully I can say it is a very good film for many reasons. It has some great action scenes, Sfx, for the suit especially. Also featuring a strong complex villain and with some funny moments. One of the better stand alone character films from the MCU.

"I first heard 'Frank Sinatra' when Erasure where recording the album Erasure in 1994 at the Strongroom in Shoreditch East London, which has now become metrosexual electro Grand Central. I love her completely nonchalant don't give a fuck attitude on Hollywood Star, it kind of reminds me of my pre-Erasure work with Pierre Cope - very minimal. On 'Frank Sinatra' she sounds like a Russian Mafia gangster that would kill you stone dead. They're also brilliant live."

"I love The Band Wagon. You just can’t go wrong. Singin’ in the Rain is great. The Sound of Music is great. But I think it is the number one MGM movie musical. It just has endlessly inventive numbers. And everyone in it is great and it’s so witty. Then again it’s very New York. A very New York story. Hollywood actor kind of fallen on hard times comes to New York to revive his career."

"During the 1960s I spent my time going to Hollywood movies, following the spirit of the Cahiers du cinéma. Written on the Wind is an explosion of cinematic style and of melodramatic excess. It stands for my love of Sirk but also for the extraordinary genius of all those 1950s directors whose careers came to an end before their time. And Sirk also leads forward to the great R. W. Fassbinder, especially to Ali: Fear Eats the Soul."

"Perhaps the noirest of noir films, and for my money one of the three best American films of the postwar period (the others being Some Like It Hot and Sunset Boulevard). Featuring amazing performances from Burt Lancaster and Tony Curtis, and a knife-edge bitterness rare in any Hollywood film, it is at once a tribute to nighttime New York City and a devastating portrait of the power of a big-time columnist like Walter Winchell."

Mixed bag of episodes
I was quite happy to see a new series of the Twilight Zone suddenly appear. With Jordan Peele in charge and appearing as the Narrator as well. Overall the episodes are quite good with some top Hollywood actors starting in each episode. Some of the stories are good. A couple of them were a bit weak. Overall a good venture into the Twilight Zone.

Waiting for the Barbarians (2020)
2020 | Drama
In an age of action-packed Hollywood blockbusters it’s a refreshing change to have a movie that you can relax with, Waiting for the Barbarians is very much that sort of film, the opening sequence with its lovely landscape shot as a horse-drawn carriage travels across the arid land to an outpost in the middle of nowhere looks great and this does set us up for the cinematography that persists throughout the film.

Detective Zach Jordan works for NYPD Red. A distinct branch of the NYPD that is in charge of cases involving the rich and famous He's about to het a new partner and a new case all in the same day. The new partner, Detective Kylie MacDonald is an old lover The new case comes at the start of Hollywood on the Hudson, where the L.A. elite come to examine movie making in New York City. So people in the T.V./movie business will be everywhere.
The Good News: NYPD Red will be busy.
The Bad News: They have a serial killer on their hands.

The first murder is at the Regency Hotel. A movie producer takes a nose dive into his breakfast plate. Not long after arriving on the scene, do they get a call for a murder at Silvercup Studios....and the day begins.

Will they find the killer before half of Hollywood is dead in NYC?

I'm a big James Patterson fan, and this book didn't have as much Umph to it that the Cross or Women's Murder Club books do.
