3rd entry in Jack Campbell's (or John G Hemry) The Lost Fleet: Beyond the Frontier series, so really 9th(!) book overall in The Lost Fleet series.

Having successfully found the frontiers of 'Enigma' alien space and started his journey back home in the previous 2 novels, this novel finishes off that journey, with 'Black Jack' Geary's First Fleet finally making its way back to Alliance Space, accompanied by the allied alien 'Dancers' they had previously encountered along the way, and with the captured 'Kick' super battle cruiser in tow.

The bulk of the novel deals with the final leg of the journey back home, with a section at the very end where Geary's flagship is sent back Home (with a capital 'H') back to the Sol system, where human life originated ...

In short, more of the same, with scope left open for even more entries in the series!

Drew's Story
Aww, this was like coming home and catching up with family you haven't seen in ages. In this novella, you find out what happened in Drew's life. Also great to catch up with Jesse the peanut butter eating, very demanding, countdown starting, family man.

This is the penultimate book in Jack Campbell (pen-name of Jon Geary) 'Lost Fleet' series, with the Alliance fleet nearing their home border with the Syndics. The very start of this novel is actually set 100 years previous, before 'Black Jack' Geary is rescued from survival sleep before the very start of the first book in the series: "Dauntless".

If you've read the others in the series, you prety much know what to expect: 'real-time' space battles, political machinations, and a sub-plot involving traiters within the fleet ...

Argh!!

I love Piper and Ash together. They're so cool with the stone and the stuff they can get it to do. I really want to read the rest of this series so bad but it will have to wait until I get back home now.

"This book is a series of letters that a young Nina wrote to her sister back home after she became the live-in babysitter for an astonishingly interesting London family in the 1980s. She’s hilarious about the goings on. And Alan Bennett was their friend and neighbor. ‘Nuff said."

Well, I was surprised!!
My first Jack Campbell book, and it won't be my last! I should probably have read the Lost Fleet series first as this is the start of the prequel series. This was fast paced, exciting and kept me interested enough over Christmas and New Year whilst the family watched all of the repeated movies! This follows Rob Geary and his fellow explorers, as they set up home on a new planet and all of the problems they have with a neighbouring star system.
I'll be keeping an eye out for the rest of the series!

MoMoBookDiary enjoyed this murder mystery.

The first in the series on Melissa Craig. I am looking forward to reading book two next.

It is an ideal summer holiday (beach) read, with a writer-cum-sleuth trying to solve a murder which was committed in the vicinity of her new home - Hawthorn Cottage.

Set in a quaint little village - Ideal for fans of Agatha Raisin series

Thank you to NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this cozy mystery..

Based on Martha Raddatz’s New York Times Best-Seller of the same name, the series relives a heroic fight for survival during the Iraq War, when the 1st Cavalry Division from Fort Hood was ferociously ambushed on April 4, 2004, in Sadr City, Baghdad.

Third one in the series was a Home-Run!
I completely love The Prisoner of Azkaban from the beginning to the end. There is something about the structure of the plot and the storyline that just works. This is the movie int he series that really starts to flesh out the over-arching story of the series. You get a glimpse of the point of the whole thing in the first two movies but this one brings in the characters and the decisions that drive the rest of the story for the next 4 installments. Besides all that, the young stars of the series have grown into actual young adults in this one and they are showing off how good their acting is going to become.
