Hiding Out Is a Disappointment
Jax has been traveling for the last couple of books, so she is looking forward to returning to her country of Saphire as she prepares for the upcoming war council. But she has only been home a few hours before something happens that makes her think she isn’t safe even in her own castle. Fleeing to a fortress in her kingdom, she surrounds herself with people she can trust. But when a murder happens, Jax has to figure out who among those present is a killer.

As always, this series needs to be read in order to properly understand the events here and avoid spoilers. Unfortunately, this wasn’t the strongest entry in the series. The pacing was off, with the murder coming late. I also pieced much of it together early. A subplot carried over from the previous book, and I didn’t enjoy it at all. Still, I do enjoy spending time with these characters and am anxious to see what happens to them next.

How did the Body Slither into Belinda’s Garden?
Belinda has just moved from New York City to Greenwich, Connecticut, where she is renting the carriage house behind the Carrington estate. And she is currently pet-sitting the python of one of her clients. But she’s barely settled in when she finds a young woman dead in the flower bed outside her cottage. The victim was a friend of the handsome Stone Carrington the Fifth. With the body being so close to her new home, Belinda starts to investigate. Will she figure out what happened?

I have quite a few books from this author, so I thought I’d start with this three-book series. Despite the quick start, I thought the first couple of interview scenes were a little short, but the book got over that. The ending was a little weaker than I would have liked, but it did answer my questions. I like Belinda, and the rest of the cast were developed well. I’m hoping to see where the series goes next soon.

Who wouldn't love to visit a cafe that hosts several book club meetings per day? And sells books to boot? This is such a great location, it's a little disappointing to realize that it is only fiction.

In this story, Sassy finds her best friends and room mate the only convenient suspect for murder, and decides to snoop around on her own to clear her pal's name. Throw in a little family drama at home and a business to run, and she has her hands full! This was a fun story, and I'll definitely be reading the rest of the series.

Also figuring out where they stand in personal relationships. Balec brings in other elite teams to help with bringing home the steel but with it comes the race issues against Iliri. This was so good!
