Stop The Runaway Train Before Its Too Late
I have seen this movie about 6-7 times now. Each time i watch it, its a good time. The action, the drama and the suspense. Both Denzel and Chris do a excellent job in ths film which is inspired by true events.

The plot: When a massive, unmanned locomotive roars out of control, the threat is more ominous than just a derailment. The train is laden with toxic chemicals, and an accident would decimate human life and cause an environmental disaster. The only hope of bringing the train to a safe stop is in the hands of a veteran engineer (Denzel Washington) and a young conductor (Chris Pine), who must risk their lives to save those in the runaway's path. Inspired by true events.

Its a good movie.

This series is so good. This slowly expanding group of friends and lovers are so close, so tight knit, so amazingly protective of each other. I love it!

Snow was a little bit of a mystery after the first one and i wasn't sure how much I'd enjoy his story but wow. It blew me away. I love his relationship with Jude, how much he softened in general when he was around, he was no longer the destructive guy from the first book. The connection between them was mindblowing.

I could have cried for Rowe in this. The blow he received at the beginning was heartbreaking. It affected them all but poor lovely Rowe...the next book is his and i hope the authors have figured out a brilliant way of writing his story. Off to start it now.

"If I put Casablanca on I’ll sound like AFI, right? [laughs] Here’s the thing: there are all the choices you can make that you know sound really good and then there’re the ones that you really watch, like a hundred times. Like Paulie, the film with the parrot — but if I put that on my list I’m gonna look like an idiot. [laughs] You must see Paulie! I know you think I’m crazy. I love Paulie. I have these films that my younger brother’s like, “Amy, you’re gonna love this — you have to watch this film.” He introduced me to Paulie. There’s a whole bunch of people in Paulie: there’s Gena Rowlands, Jay Mohr, Cheech; the guy from Monk, Tony Shalhoub, who’s one of my favorites. It’s such a touching story. I hope I haven’t built it up too much. [laughs]"

"Some books save lives. On its thirty-fifth anniversary, this book is still doing it. If you have never read this wise, accurate and still fresh reality-check on how black women have often been left out of the public image of both the civil rights and feminist movements – even though they disproportionately created both – read this book. You will see the world whole. In recent times, for instance, why did 51% of white women voters support Donald Trump, yet 96% of black women voters supported Hillary Clinton? This book will explain why. More than any other definable group, black women are the hope for the democratic future of this country. And after you finish this book by Paula Giddings, read A Sword Among Lions, her great biography of Ida B. Wells. You will see how long black women have been leading us."

Nick Love recommended The Firm (1993) in Movies (curated)

The Firm (1993)
The Firm (1993)
1993 | Drama, Mystery, Thriller

"Clearly we’ll start here. I hope it’s fairly obvious, my adoration of it, but I think that what it represents is probably bigger than the actual film itself. It was the first film I’d ever seen that was really something I could identify with, so it has a big place in my heart and my mind. But actually, the more you went back and looked at The Firm, the more you could pick very small holes in it, you know. Whereas, obviously, I could talk about The Godfather, but there’s nothing you could find wrong with that — it’s a true masterpiece. What was amazing about the original Firm was Gary Oldman, and the brutality and the Steadicam and stuff like that. Because it was the first film that ever really affected me, it’s always going to have a place in my heart.”"

An erotic ride....

Two for Tuesday is an erotic, very sensual story. Not only does it draw you into a heady sexual relationship but it highlights the differences between different social backgrounds.....Mel being a more country girl and Marcus being from the city.
Colour is only really referred to once or so, the cheeky stereotype.....which Mel clears up by saying she's gone back and forth over that line haha.

I like both characters, though Marcus was a tad needy, but it didn't make it any less enjoyable......just more realistic.

Bit of a spoiler......it gives hope that things can happen/get back on track after years apart. Also that sexual chemistry can't always be worn out!!

Definitely an adult only read.....to be read alone as it gets pretty hot and very detailed!

KOA was a long, action-packed, unforgettable ending to a lengthy, yet beautiful, series of good versus evil, spiritual and emotional growth, loss and love and healing. I shed tears, I cursed, I smiled. It was a conclusion I was honestly too afraid to hope for and yet it was surrounded by so many unexpected moments. I put off reading this for so long, because the ending is so final and I knew I'd feel the loss deep inside - which I do. Regardless of the opportunity to always start the series over, this is truly goodbye. Sarah wrapped everything up beautifully. I am in awe of the depth of her writing and the intricacies each individual perspective beheld for the entirety of the story. I will not sin forget Aelin, Rowan, or their friends. Well done, Sarah.
